So far, the mechanic of damaging yourself during your turn proved to be too slow - even Diseased Vulture, which allows to snowball an early board, didn't have much success.
Yes, you can play this on 10 and hero power, getting a decent board and forcing your opponent to deal with your 4/12, which isn't terrible. It also isn't great against any particular strategy.
I doubt this will see much play unless a Dragon Warlock deck will be starving for dragons. Even then, I feel there are better neutral dragons available already.
Diseased Vulture is very good, it can single-handedly win games. It didn't have much success because Warlock sucks, not because the card is bad.
This card reduced at 6 mana with Frizz can get pretty huge value in one turn.
You play this for 6, tap for 2, play 2 flame imps for 2. That's three 6/6s generated.
I also like that it can generate a 6/6 for free on curve with Galakronds weapon.
And the ability to work on opponent's turn will force the opponent to play around that card specifically, kinda like secrets, it's very good to force sub obtimal plays.
I think it's underrated a little bit. People will play this in handlock/control lock.
Anyway, this look like a natural fit in Handlock since Nether Breath + Crazed Netherwing are the perfect gift this archetype could ask for. And Twilight Drake was already played on top of that.
Opponent trying to go face and ignore Zzeraku ? Punish them with Sunfury Protector. Dragon Handlock look very promising.

Why are people talking about Zzeraku the Warped + Flame Imp? In wich deck are you gonna play both ?

Indeed, I feel like people who say "ignore it and go face" have never played a control deck in their lives.
