I'd say that 4 attack gives a good chance at triggering the Overkill, but I can't for the life of me think of any deck this card could thrive in.
With pirates perhaps making a comeback, this would work well in a midrange tempo pirate warrior. Sul'thraze has great flexibility, either going face over turns 6, 7, 8, and 9 for 16 damage or controlling the board enabling the pirates to push damage.
Because Sul'thraze going all face only finishes by Turn 9, it's way slower than Arcanite Reaper, which does 10 face damage by Turn 6. So in a pure aggressive pirate warrior deck, the reaper is much better.
I don't see a reason to play this over Supercollider, or this over Execute, or this over Shield Slam, or for that matter, this IN ADDITION TO all the other (far far better) removal that Warrior has.
Gonna need some pretty major support to be viable IMO.
You know there was this one time where warrior didn't only have control decks.... this myopic view of card reviewing is getting pretty tired. This definitely could fit in a midrange/tempo deck. in fact it's pretty good in a rush deck, rush decks typically can control the board fairly well, but they tend to run out of steam unless you add card draw, which weakens them. this adds an immense amount of steam. and that's only one example, there are all sorts of decks that this may fit into, and fit into well, it's just not the decks in the meta. I'm hoping this is good enough because hopefully many new decks will come from this expansion.

Again, what reason do you have to run this over another (better) weapon? Furthermore, what reason do you have to run a better weapon AND this? I didn't mention anything about control decks (it's untrue that there was a time when Warrior didn't have a control deck). What function would a weapon like Sulthraze have? I would make that claim that anything Sulthraze can do, there are cards that do it better and more efficiently.

Because all the tools you mentioned are in control decks and would be pretty bad in a deck this would be in... and there isn't a strictly better weapon than this. This is very good in a board oriented warrior deck, which you clearly haven't played or even thought about. not to mention the 2 cost 4 damage card makes this insane... overkill something or multiple things of 7 health or less and go face? Yes please. This can definitely provide massive face damage and turn around the board state, all on it's own, while providing further tempo for another turn, this is an incredibly powerful tempo and face tool.
BTW, everyone made the same type of argument against super collider... can't see where it would fit in the current meta..., not good enough... is what the arguments boiled down to. One could say some card reviewers are unable to look past their noses.

brb, I'll get back to you after I've "clearly thought about board-centric Warrior" and once I can see past my nose.
FWIW I am not attacking you personally, I am merely giving my opinion of the card. Please be big enough to return the same level of civility to me and other posters who critique cards.

That's the thing. This weapon will kill a minion in the way, and smack the opponent in the same turn. Realistically, keeping it for 2 turns is all that is needed to clear some trash and punch the opponent for 8

Wow, 16 potential face damage for only 6 mana! And if there is a small taunt in the way, you don't even have to waste your attack per turn on it.

4/4 weapon is somewhat decent for 6, though not constucted level without synergies
But if you Forge it, it becomes 5/5 or 6/6
==> This means a "weapon warrior" deck might be strong.
