What are your opinions on Sludge Belcher? The reason I think he might be looked at for a nerf is because EVERY deck runs him in the meta. It seems that if 90-95% of decks have 2 cards pre-selected for them that card might be too powerful. What are your thoughts on it?
like evilcat said, the card is a more powerful Taz'dingo and ya, he was already good to begin with. hell, I still see Taz'dingo used often so its not dead. sludge belcher doesn't need a nerf. it will never get nerfed. if anything will happen, it will be blizzard releasing new cards that make DeathRattles harder to use like a Nerub'ar Weblord for Deathrattle minions or hell, a minion or 2 that flat out makes DeathRattles un-activatable or silences all death rattle minions. stuff like that to help balance the playing field a little.
It's almost like saying Armorsmith is overpowered (aside from all the obvious differences but hear me out). Both trade unfavourably with many cards of the same mana cost, but both are exceptional because they are designed to counter a very specific set of decks -- which happen to be perpetually popular. Once upon a time, nobody ran Armorsmiths because everyone ran super greedy control decks. In that environment, Armorsmiths were pure garbage. Then one day, the Warlocks met the Murlocs, and history was forever changed.
Same sort of deal with Sludge Belcher, except the issues at hand were Leeroy combos and Force of Nature combos.
No. It's not OP, at all, it doesn't kill everything, it just stops aggro early on. This is about the 50th "OMG OMG PLZ NERF SLUGE BELCHA HE 2 OP 4 ME TO HANDLE!!"!!"22!!"
And it's mostly from people who haven't got naxx, never has a sludge belcher won me a game, nor is it so powerful it needs to get smashed into the ground like other nerfs,
Not please, children, simmer down.
It's won me tons of games. I think your playing it wrong if it hasn't won you any.
I'm new to Hearthstone, but I have experience in plenty of other TCGs. And from my vantage point, the fact that Sludge Belcher is essentially Senjin Shieldmasta + Goldshire Footman is in and of itself a problem. I mean, cards are not merely the sum of its parts, and two cards in one is much better than those two cards apart. Shieldmasta was already the best taunter in his class, with that all-important 5 toughness. Attaching a Goldshire Footman is a huge bonus because it fulfills the objective of tanking at least one hit. Thus, you can see Belcher replacing Shieldmasta in all of the decks where a Shieldmasta was used.
That being said, why not do something like making Belcher a 3/4 taunter that Deathrattles a 1/3 taunter? It would preserve the raw stat count, so everyone with the "stats" argument should not object, but it would be easier for aggro to deal with 4 toughness, enough so that Belcher vs. Shieldmasta becomes an actual question.
Belcher isn't op just because a card is good and in most decks doesn't make it op. If they nerf belcher there's gonna be even more hunters than there are right now
Don't get me wrong at all, I love the Belcher. I have far more decks I play that benefit from him than are hampered by him. My only issue is he's an automatic inclusion in every single deck except face rush decks (correct me if I'm wrong on that).
It also has slowed the meta enough for deck diversity, which is great.
The question I have is this; should a neutral minion be needed in 85-90% of all decks?
I think most people would disapprove of nerfing Sludge Belcher because most people use it, including me. Nerfing him would probably cripple my deck, lol. He's an amazing card at the value, and I think if Blizzard nerfs him then alot of people would not think too great about it. Personally, I think Blizzard made Sludge Belcher to counter those heavy aggo decks, which I appreciate.

nope. the only card that needs nerfing is mad scientist, not even undertaker deserves a nerf in my opinion.

You are going to be seeing 'stall' decks if you haven't already. Belcher will be in all of them.
Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.

I think making the slime a 1/1 or a 0/2 would not be unreasonable.

"Put your faith in the Light!"
A nerf to Sludge Belcher would be the same as buffing hunters, and silimilar rush decks.
