So I ended this season with a 66.3% win rate. I didn't attain Legendary due to the time commitment, but I am sure that this variant is capable of it. Go try it out!
I played a Medivh Druid for awhile. The problem is that he shifts the focus to the late game, but there are currently many stronger lategame decks in the meta. In fact, many of the other classes can run Medivh better.
That being said, I think the Moonkin variant is the strongest Malygos Druid deck right now.
Baron Geddon and Soggoth the Slitherer are other interesting meta picks. Both shut down a ton of aggro decks right now; the latter pretty much is only viable because Paladin is MIA.
Current decklist is stable at 67.21% win rate. Only change was to drop Harrison Jones for Bloodmage Thalnos; I've been having to cream a lot of Mages recently.
I don't play the straight up cheeseball variant any more because of Tempo Mage. I run Jungle Moonkin and am experimenting with Starfall and Baron Geddon.
This was originally the Moonkin Druid, but I decided to take it out to focus on Medivh and Moonglade Portal. However, it seemed to have some trouble closing games, so I changed it back.
I agree that Thalnos and Drake can make Living Roots reach out to hit a lot of good targets, but I could just run a second Feral Rage too. And yeah, the tokens are great in Hunter and Paladin matchups.
That being said, question: After cutting Malygos, do you think Living Roots provides enough value in this metagame? The tokens can't really touch a lot of the early drops any more, we don't really pack Power of the Wild to synergize with it, and cards like Maelstrom Pulse just set us dangerously back in tempo. I have been thinking about cutting one to put in a Doomsayer.
In my opinion, this Malygos variant needs Yogg. There's nothing really that can clear the board like him. If you want to play without Yogg, you would do something like a Token build.
Currently sitting pretty at 70% win rate. This deck is actually really strong against the aggro floating around, but doesn't do too well against extreme late game decks such as Priest and Warrior.
Baron Geddon is actually surprisingly strong against a lot of decks. However, I would like to point out that a simple Starfall might be more effective.
This deck should not have any real problems with aggro aside from maybe Midrange Shaman. I'm at 81% win rate with my own variant; I expect this to drop to 60-70% though, since I only recently started to climb. My only losses tend to be to extreme late game decks like Control Priest and Warrior.

But otherwise, Ragnaros the Firelord.

Here is the last build I used though:

I was toying around with Sylvanas instead of Thaurissan. Was also considering maybe playing Doomsayer.

I've added Harrison to mine as well.
It's insane how the meta keeps suddenly moving.

Guess they'll stick around for a bit longer.

I've actually been moving away from the cheeseball build with Malygos and Yogg myself. Mine focuses on getting value from Medivh and Portals though: http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/531368-portal-druid

Down to 63% win rate. I hate the single digits. So much Control. I have made some changes to address the deficiencies in the lategame.

I personally do a weird metagame build:
http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/531368-moonkin-druid
It's at 69.5% win rate and stable. It might need another late game option though. It sort of runs out of steam against Priest and Warrior decks.

Not sure if it's consistent enough without Yogg or some major changes.
