It's the perfect time to think about transistioning to wild for new players. Atm I play a little of both but I don't think I will play standart at all during the next cycle because I loose my current 2 favorite decks (freeze mage / reno mage).
Now if they REMOVED azur drake from the game I would be really mad but moving it to wild ? Okay. I mean standart was never supposed to be anything else then a cash grab. Remember we all used to play "wild". Then they named normal hearthstone "wild" and created an artificial rotating format to sell more packs. Even the naming ws very biased in this cash grab goal. Rather then giving an honorific name like "legacy" or "vintage" they named it "wild" because human beings instinctively don't like strange or wild things.
Of course it is in their interest to move as many staples as possible into wild so people will have to replace them with newer cards. Or else they won't sell as many packs.
I started pre Naxx, I have seen my fair share of cards removed from the game (including my beloved blade flurry RIP) so I won't complain at all about dumping anything into wild. I hope they dump even more into wild so people get frustrated by their cash grab standart format and get more interested in wild..
The fact you are upset azure drake is getting rotated proves he's OP. If it were up to me, I would have nerfed him to 6 mana and I bet he would still see some play in standard. He's only balanced in wild because there's other OP 5 drops like sludge and loatheb. Either go play wild or enjoy all the new 5 drops that will now see play that azure is gone.
It is sadly too late. I don't like them moving any of the cards to Hall of Fame either, but if I have to choose a card to be sent to classic set, I rather pick Reno Jackson. It is the only reason people would even run a highlander deck, it will automatically kill this archetype... RIP Kazakus, Raza the Chained, Inkmaster Solia and [card]Krul the Unshackled[/card] (never see play on this last one)
Youre joking right? Raza And Kazakus definately can be used. Thats part of the reason why Sylvanas was shifted out because of to much synchronisation witht he upcoming Xpac. So there'll definately be more Deathrattle cards for Us to use thay will be printed to work towards priests Quest. So A Highlander Nzoth deck will definately be viable. And im sure as we see more cards from the next xpac being revealed or atleast over the next few Theyll be viable for others. Stop spreading close minded false information. If you actually have no idea what you are talking about
