Maybe everyone already knows this and I'm late to the show, but I discovered an interesting thing when my Emperor Cobra hit a minion that had Divine Shield. The minion didn't die. After re-reading the Cobra's card text it looks like this actually is correct, when you compare it with the definition of Divine Shield.
"Destroy any minion damaged by this minion." Divine Shield prevents damage, so therefore, no "destroy." I mistakenly thought of "damaged" as "attacked"...not the case.
No big deal, just wanted to share in case others didn't know this.
Divine shield makes things have interesting results. I always love using Cruel Taskmaster on my argent squire and making it a 3/1 without divine shield

I used to use cobra in my old hunter deck when I started playing. Opponents would start panicking and use everything and anything available to kill it like it was the next coming of the black plague :D
Not used it outside of arena for a while as it is easy enough kill off for sensible players. Or even played around. Stick out a crappy small minion as bait, or as said here, a minion with divine shield. Not everyone who runs cobra realises that it doesn't off a shielded minion ... well, they will now
Shadowflame doesn't work with emperor cobra. Interestingly enough, shield slam for 0 doesn't break divine shield while slam breaks it and gets to draw.

Well.. ya, If shield slam deals 0 damage there is no damage for the shield to absorb thus it goes on as if nothing happened. Slam deals the 2 damage so it kills the shield and since slam dealt the damage and the creature is still alive, you get to draw.

Everytime I play the emperor cobra it gets taken out immediately at the very least the card works great as a soft taunt.
Try buffing it and making it a taunt... then increased health.... It is pretty nice..

Yeah, divine shield is his kryptonite. Scarlet Crusader is a decent answer for him.
That's exactly what happened here. Other player hit him with her.

As I recall, this particular interaction also means that things like Betrayal and Shadowflame become insta-death.

That is definitely in my playbook... :^)

I didn't think cruel taskmaster would still buff a minion with divine shield... good tip.
Nothing better than some emperor cobra betrayal value in arena, 2 mana, slay ogre and 5/5 stealthed tiger? bitch please
Jobnik... I am a bit n00bish... could you elaborate a little more on that arena tactic? Thanks

Emperor Cobra is a nice solid card in Arena. It's usually a 1 for 1 but a while ago I managed to buff it and 3 for 1 my opponent. It was gratifying.
Ok I got it now.. thanks

Actually had this happened to me in arena once... Never thought about the interaction with betrayal so it kind of blew me out
