The card didn't specify random, so I assume you can select which demon from your hand goes into the battlefield? It would be too harmful if it was random - Doomguard and losing some cards you didn't want to.

It is random, as random has been shown through other cards to be implied in a lot of Naxx cards, though it functions the same way as Alarmo-Bot in that the minion played does not trigger battlecry.

You thought there would be something inspirational here didn't you?
I dont see this card working on current zoo, but i like it. You can build a decent midrange demon deck, and this card give you tempo and can ignore drawback from most demons on ETB eff.
They just won't give me my new Priest card, will they? :D Anyway, my take on this card is, it's one of those where you can instantly say "this could be a good combo with this and that if...", but if you don't get the right conditions, this is just a dead weight on its own.
This exactly. After sleeping on it, even more disappointed today...
Just throwing this out there... when a minion is played through non-standard means (aside from Jaraxxus, which still takes the hero slot when played by another card). The demons that are "Bad" are because of battlecry effects...
As it is, running this with 2x sense demons, Jaraxxus, 2x Infernal, and 2x Doomguard, and 2xvoidcaller in a normal-ish Zoo deck has potential (might not even want the infernals, but they would add consistency. With Zoo you can usually get board control early, so summoning out an early Jaraxxus wouldn't be bad, and "free" doomguards would be game ending.
Also something to note: The deathrattle on that card is being valued at 1 mana, so even if you get a 1 drop from it, you aren't losing value.
Yes, the demons are bad because of their battle cries. But a competitive deck that relies on void caller getting them out? If best, it brings out two, what about all the other ones? This card is horrid. And I doubt they will add demons to Naxx, there are none so lore wise, it wouldn't work. At all. Might be different if this expansion had something to do with the burning legion, but Naxx? This card is for a fun, casual deck, and the other cards other classes get could be added to a competitive deck. Thanks Blizz. This is why Zoo is here btw, because we have no good neutral minions.
So has anyone looked at the artwork on this card? Probably the weakest so far IMO. I mean, his arm just looks completely broken, and it's not very dynamic at all
Just like 90% of the other naxx cards so far: poopy. I think they want people to make bad picks more often in arena and therefore are adding these cards to the game.
So if you don't get the battlecry then this with lord jarraxus will only put down a 3/15 :P already happens with alarm o bot. Interesting card nonetheless, to bad that there are no neutral demons.
Still better than the mage/pala/rogue card, so its fine :)
Could be nice combined with the new deathrattle cards
The pally secret is not bad actually, pally aggro will get one hell of a boost and Pally trap stack will be come a reality something deadly. Secret keeper+Noble sack+Avenge = 6/6 if you try to attack it with a minion and a 3/4 if you leave it alone and considering pallys have spells like blessing of kings and blessing of might this could spiral out of control really easy.
I keep thinking and a midrange demon deck seems very good actually. You allredy have some good quality demons (2 good early taunters the 1/3 and the 3/5, good bodys for midrange, a 4 5/6 and a 5 5/7 charge) this card add sinergy, let you by pass some drawbacks and trade without lossing board minions (and even getting some heavy treads). Add to this, warlock have good removals and draw engine-power that give him a heavy card advantage. Time will show.
But yes, I think its safe to assume that everyone realises that any judgement right now is preliminary and subject to change, pending further information. If some of the 66% are demons, then I think its safe to say any opinion offered so far on Voidcaller is totally flawed because it is based on a lack of vital information. We all know this. And yet, here we all are, reading and typing away!
But anyway, from what I have seen so far, I'd say most cards are situational and several are possibly 'noob traps' (e.g. Shade, and Duplicate). Voidcaller strikes me as average.
Shade feels like it was an Arena-based card to me: It feels like a strong Arena bomb that will be weak in Constructed.
I would like to point out we havent even seen half the cards they stated there would be 30 new cards.
we have seen 12 thats like 40% I think we should wait till we are closer to 66% till we make conspiracy allegations :)
Well I cant speak for the other classes but if you look at the weaker ones in constructed right now (pally, mage, priest) the shown cards are really disappointing. I played mage for a long time and having to rely on aggro is really bad. I was hoping that blizz will add cards that help the class to be more competative.
Im quiet sure that other pallys or priests or whatever were hoping that they get another way of playing their class. Seeing just another random secret popping up is just plain stupid. I really hope for more useful cards. At least give mages a decent 5 drop :)
discussed on page one or 2 turn 3 play with coin

Ah, gotcha. That actually helps the demon deck a lot, as it avoids the negative battlecries you'd have to suffer.

Turn 2: Egg; 0/2
Turn 3: Void Terror; 4/4 + 3/5
Turn 4: Void Caller; 4/4 + 3/5 + 3/4
Turn 5: Egg + Void Terror, proccing Void Caller to drop your Doomguard; 4/4 + 3/5 + 4/4 + 6/9 + 5/7 charge
Good luck and good night

I agree, Shade of Naxxramas is too slow to be that effective in constructed but in arena with less likelihood of AoE it could do well.

Deck came to me in a dream, what do do guys think, just ridiculously fun, or actually viable in the ladder?
