To those of you who bought the wild bundle, I have a question. Did you buy packs of the wild expansions after the change to legendary drop rates, and if not, did you get a legendary in the first ten packs of the respective set from the wild bundle?
Because I did not. I bought the bundle under the assumption that I would be guaranteed a legendary from GvG and TGT, because I hadn't bought or opened any packs of the respective sets since they rotated out of the standard format. I did buy Old Gods and Gadgetzan packs back when the change was introduced and did get a legendary with ten or fewer packs back then.
It has been stated, though not officially confirmed that the change to the "one legendary in the first ten packs of any given expansion" was retroactive for all sets. Has that been changed?
Some of you might say that I probably just forgot that I had gotten some GvG or TGT packs in between, but I assure you I have not. I have an excessive excel sheet keeping track of all my cards, and I doubled checked my purchase history in my battlenet account, I never bought any wild packs after the set rotated.
This is not a salt thread, even though I am generally disappointed with my opening results (one legendary, nine epics, well below average, but, according to my spreadsheet, still very much within normal distribution). I just want to know if this is something that happened to more people and if it is worth contacting Blizzard about this or not.
In the Blizzard shop, not from within Hearthstone. It's 40 packs for $24.99, 10 each from Goblins vs. Gnomes, The Grand Tournament, Whispers of the Old Gods and Mean Streets of Gadgetzan. A good value in general, $0.62 per pack (vs. at least $1.17 per pack in the 60 pack bundle). Especially if you have never bought wild packs before and get four legendaries guaranteed (or so the rumor goes).
I got three legendaries, and because I despise aggro AND murlocs, Finja is probably heading to the dustbin. Rhonin and Malorne can stay, for now.
Didn't have very many GvG cards; I only opened two complimentary packs years ago for it. Got the legendary on first pack today.
My luck with TGT was horrible; I only opened two legendaries in however long it was from Karazhan to its exile to wild. So nice to get a legendary and a couple of epics.
Old Gods wasn't so kind to see me again; I landed a lot of legendaries in packs when I returned to Hearthstone in the Karazhan days, but none today.
Mean Streets of Gadgetzan has been giving me a lot of legendaries in its recent packs; I bought a special pack deal before it went to wild and landed two. Finja definitely wasn't on the list though.
As for the question -- yeah, I think all the card decks gave a legendary within 10, from what I recall. Remember going on a spending spree when the drop mechanics changed and word of mouth was legendaries were rolling in the old stuff.
Well, my pitytrackers ( www.pitytracker.com ) was MSG 35/8 TOG 34/9 TGT 23/9 GvG 30/5 so I did not buy it, because result of the opening would sure be salt. A lot of salt.

I've got a legendary (Troggzor) from the GvG packs, since I have never ever opened a GvG pack in my life (started playing in the Old Gods expansion).
However, I didn't get any legendary from the TGT packs. Probably, that is because I have opened packs (well, 1 pack for sure, dunno about more) back in the WotOG/Kara days, when I got the TGT pack from a 8-3 arena run as a second pack (the guaranteed pack was from WotOG of course). Maybe that messed up my pity timer and maybe that messed up yours and you don't remember it (since it was years ago). I have a screenshot and that's how I knew about my TGT pack.

That is exactly the issue. I was under the assumption that my pity trackers for GvG and TGT would be at 10, thus guaranteeing me at least two legendaries from the bundle. And I assumed that because of the changes made before the Frozen Throne launch which set the pity timer to ten for every expansion, and did so retroactively, independent of whether you had bought packs before or not.
I would not have bought it otherwise, this is why I'm asking.

That is interesting. I thought that with the change to the drop rate basically every expansion's pity timer is set to ten, and once you open a legendary it resets to the usual 40. Therefore it shouldn't matter if you ever opened one pack of a wild expansion after the change, all that should do is either give you a legendary or reduce your pity timer from 10 to 9. How and when you acquired the pack should not matter for the timer. Seems kind of odd to reset all expansions to 10 and then when you buy one pack set it back to 40 (or 39) or whatever.
But somehow, and from your experience too, that does not seem to be how this actually works. And I do wonder if that is intentional, and if the reset for all expansions was by mistake and has since been "fixed". No official announcements about this as far as I know.
Well I bought the bundle and got a legendary in each (2 in GVG). As far as my memory goes I did not open any packs of these after the changes were made. I did open them before as I have been playing since beta, but I did not keep track of pity timers back then, so I have no way of knowing if I were just close to hit it.
I did get Genzo, the Shark, Twin Emperor Vek'lor, and Fjola Lightbane, but nothing in the GvG packs (yay, great opening...). I don't remember ever opening a legendary of GvG. I stopped playing really soon and came back in kobolds, so I may have forgotten tho...
If you have never before opened a pack from a set you will get a legendary in the first 10
if you have opened 1 pack from any set ever this pack will count toward the 10
if you have opened a legendary in one of the sets your timer is now the typical 40 or 50 whatever that number is
Does anyone know if the change to the 10 pack pity timer, which appeared to be retroactive for all expansions, independent of previous pack opening, is still in place?
Back when the change was rolled out I remember getting a legendary in the first ten packs for WOG, MSG, UNG. A lot of people did, and it appeared that any previous pity timer was just reset to 10, no matter what.
The ten packs of GvG and TGT were the first of the respective expansions I opened after the change, so the pity timer for both sets should have been 10. Yet, I did not get any legendaries.
Does anybody know for a fact that the pity timer reset was rerolled to only include the actual first 10 packs opened (packs opened before the change would count towards the 40 pack pity timer)?
Blizzard could be more generous and reset the timers, after-all the community that buys always looking in hearthpwn and other media before buying,
when we see negative threads and salt regarding packs content we don't buy. why not provide better experience for buyers ? .. those Wild legendary cards are mostly useless anyway so at least let have some fun and buyers will post nice packs they opened.
I haven't opened any packs from wild sets after the 10 pack change, but I have opened packs before they moved to wild, since I started playing during Naxx. From every set I got at least one legendary and one pack gave me two. In total I got 5 legendaries from this bundle.
