Or you are looking under neutral cards, but Venomizer is a Hunter Class card?

Giving out free stuff for said dice roll simulator is hardly forcing anyone to do anything.
And I am wondering what you are even doing here? Apparently you don't like the game, but still you comment on them giving out stuff because the minuscule requirement of having a background tab open in your browser is too much for you?
And then people wonder why the world is going to sh*t. SMH.

They have some issues apparently, but the latest info I have is that they are going to roll out the update for mobile on 6/4 at 9:00 am PDT.

I personally like it. It is far from perfect, but a nice addition to the game.
Sure, it is not that different from previous solo content, but the new features and twists distiguish it enough to not make it feel the same as dungeon or rumble run, though they are obviously similar. But with the bar encounters to edit your deck, completely random decks (which can backfire hard or sometimes be completely OP), and my personal favorite, the anomaly mode, no run feels like the previous one.
I find it challanging without being to frustrating. Normal mode is fairly straight forward, heroic can feel kind of unfair at times, but in both directions. Sometimes you just stomp the AI, sometimes you get stomped, but on average I do feel like my decisions matter.
The fact that you can pause mid game and just return later is a huge added bonus as well.
There are some issues, and the overall polish of the game leaves something to be desired, and there are no excuses for that, but considering the buggy state in which many tripple A titles are released, that just seems to be how games are produced these days.
I've definitely gotten my money's worth so far, spending probably 10+ hours on it, and I at least will finish normal mode with all classes. To me it is a nice relaxing option when I don't feel like playing ranked.
Lastly, I think Dalaran Heist is a good option for new players to familiarize themselves with cards and mechanics, plus, Zayle gives them a glimpse into (semi-expensive) competitive Hearthstone decks. For the gold or money investment a new player does not just get the single player experience, but the option to play against other people, and thus a better idea of whether or not it is worth to him/her to spend more money to build a larger collection.

I rope when I play on mobile and get a phone call. Or if I have a disconnect. Or if there is something else I am doing on the side. I don't always pay full attention, and so I accidentally sometimes rope being distracted.

I guess the reason is this:
You create a brand new deck, original AF, start playing.
You lose. You lose again. And again.
Even if you don't go to netdeck immediately, you do see what other people play. And built a deck after their example. And maybe win a game or two.
And the next guy who plays you thinks you're just netdecking, even if all you did was just recreating the deck you lost over and over against from memory.

What this comes down to is this: Is the solo playing experience worth the gold or money to you or not.
And this question everyone has to answer for themselves.
That you'll get fewer packs compared to buying them directly from the store is obvious.

I haven't seen her played in weeks. If you want to complain about random card generation, there are plenty of other cards that do just that, Elysianna does not stand out in that regard, other than she is a super late game card. Does it matter if you are killed through her or some randomly generated pyroblast? I don't think so. These mechanics are just part of the game.

There is of course the potential entertainment value of the content itself. But whether that's worth it to you is your decision.
For me it's like going to watch a movie or something, I'm pretty sure I'm going to get more than two hours of solid entertainment out of it, plus the packs.

But it is still technically free to play. You can earn gold in game and buy it if you want or you save it for packs of the next expansion or whatever. Where you set your priority, and if the PvE is worth it to you depends entirely on you. I think it's pretty unfair to blame Blizzard for giving you a choice.
Especially since,, like you said, the single player gives (inherently and unlike previous adventures) zero competitive advantage
