So I have been thinking about the wild format a lot and it seems like it would be better if standard cards (with the exception of basic & classic cards) were NOT allowed in wild format. It would just be the inverse of standard. So right now, pirates and trogg and reno and faceless 7/7 would NOT be allowed in Wild until they rotate out of standard.
That way, there is a more defined split between the 2 formats and we don't see too many of one deck in BOTH formats because no deck could be used in BOTH formats.
Do you agree? Seems like I have seen a lot of people not enjoying wild because of standard decks being used.

Still not sure if I hate Hearthstone...or love it.
I disagree. Previous iterations of Wild haven't bothered me, as their meta has been different than that of Standard. The problem I believe is twofold. #1 is a short term problem, and that is that Gadgetzan is simply too strong. Reno/Kazakus decks are....kind of busted, and Pirate synergy is off the charts in terms of what any deck should be able to do in the early game. Jade Druid has forced control decks to entirely redefine how they play. Wild will forever be changed because of Gadgetzan (until something comes along that is stronger than that, or counters it).
#2 is a long term problem, and that is the (relatively) small card pool. Right now, access to the strongest cards/decks is really wide open and pretty universally agreed upon; there isn't much room to be creative without sacrificing strength. This will naturally be resolved over time as new cards are released, but my hopes are that Team 5 develops more tribes and keywords. Giving new vanilla minions, strong burn spells, broken AoE, and strictly OP class cards is not the solution; it will only lead to boring stale metas. We need a lot of different cards that are all strong and good but in different ways. Give us a good reason not to run the busted package that every other deck is running.

Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination.

I don't see how this will be an inverse. This is rather a throwback in the time before standard. Except some archetype defining cards have been nerfed, like Molten Giant, various Druid and Face Hunter cards.

Kaladin's RoS Set Review
Join me at Out of Cards!
The idea is ok as long as it is a 3rd game format. Ancient Mode or something.
But there HAS to be a format where ANYTHING is allowed. Wild must stay as it is, no exceptions.
Telling wild players that they shouldn't buy new cards is not a viable business model.
