That i don't have to see this shit every single Arena run with Mage and Paladin consisting of 75% of what i encounter. Hope this expansion brings diversity and see a healthy even amount of heroes.
PS - The Paladin hype is overrated...Classes such as Druid are just as as good and Rogue is superior. Stop being sheep.
Don't worry about the lack of variety, Shaman meta is coming :)
I've also noticed Warlock is starting to come into the meta because people finally learned how to draft this class.
I wish people would play more Druid and Rogue too, I have at least a 6 win average with all 9 classes. Analyzing some of the 12 win decklists on this site really helped me understand the different curve and synergy strategies of each class and archetype.
I never get past 4.... My internet connection is limited and doesn't like hearthstone and thats been made worse with using the tablet I've been playing 1 game 2 if im lucky,
and getting on here while hearthstone takes a break makes me feel like a crap player but 70% of my loses are disconnect or game freezing.
Dark Archon, as much as you say the hype is overrated, it is backed up by the numbers.
For example, the almost 150,000 arena runs recorded by ArenaMastery since GvG came out, show that people tracking their stats go an average of 5.29 wins with mage, 5.11 wins with paladin and 4.99 wins with rogue. The other classes are pretty close together with priest, shaman warlock, hunter and druid all in the 4.77 to 4.6 range. Only warrior is dangling at the bottom with 4.29 wins on average.
These stats are even more impressive if you remember that everyone picks mage and paladin even if they're not very good with the class, just because they've heard it's good; while classes like warlock, hunter and shaman are mostly picked by people who are specifically good at playing those classes. So that means even when you have relatively clueless people piloting mage and paladin, they still do better than the more specialized people playing other classes.
So the expansion shouldn't just change the hype, it needs to actually make certain classes stronger to compete with the top dogs. So far, it seems like shaman is well on the way with some great new common and rare cards, but we won't know if its enough until we've seen all the cards revealed.
You guys are assuming blizzard cares about changing the arena meta. I haven't seen much that would indicate that to me. Most of their focus to date has been balancing constructed meta and making sure that most if not all constructed classes have competitive deck builds. I think with arena, we just sort of get what we get and have to figure it out. I hope there is more diversity, but the Mage's hero ability is a pretty tough one to overcome in a board control meta like the arena. I don't see things changing too much, even with cards like Totem Golem.
Because Arena is all about board control and Mage has the most efficient removal in the game (and assumedly always will) I don't really see it ever changing as the dominant class. I'm glad Warlock is doing better, been drafting it a lot myself lately. Problem with Warrior is that most of the class cards are utterly dependant upon each other to be any good.

Lol, my best arena runs (includin 12 wins) are with Paladin and I haven't had very good experiences with Druid. That makes me a sheep? wtf
