Hey, guys. I don´t really remember if we got free arena tickets for unfinished arenas last standard rotations, as we get with every limited-time arena event. I assume we will get, which usually means every one, even those who are not that much arena players like me, should start a run in the next couple of weeks to get some juicy extra rewards.

Depends. I don't remember them always resetting the arena on each expansion and I KNOW they don't do it for every change in arena (which is why Krip keeps getting sniped by folks holding decks that can't be legally made anymore at times).
They don't surprise anyone with it. So if they plan to do so we'll know about it later on and you'll have time to start that arena run.
So yeah you can do it if you want, no harm in setting it up now, but there's no need to worry either as you'll have time between when we find out about it and when it'll happen.
This only happened when special events happened (2-class arena, caverns of time). Rotations always kept the old decks around and this created a period where people were playing wild decks while other were playing standard.
Don't think you'll get a ticket, just a potentially OP Mammoth-holding deck.

That MAY not happen this time around. The next rotation won't just be a change of removing 3 old sets and adding in a new one. They are completely swapping things around so that they get a different batch of sets. Boomsday and Rumble are getting removed as well while Naxx and Old Gods are going in. The decks are going to be extremely fundamentally different between old and new.
This isn't the guarantee they will do it. Just saying that this is uncharted territory. They may reset, or they may not. We'll seee.

my main question is this: if I start a run now, and then finish it after the expansion releases, what kind of pack will I get?

I believe, and I'm 99% sure, on rotation you will get the rewards for you current run, plus a free ticket. So make sure to start a run and keep going until 2 losses.
They reset when they remove cards from the pool, not when they add (except for special events obviously). So they reset only at the start of the HS year when rotation happens, not every expansions.
That being said, the reset should come more often from ROS goin forward, if they intend to switch up the sets twice per expansion.

This expansion they will remove cards from the pool, since they will change the whole arena system to have a few selected sets, from both standard and wild. The patch notes read: "With Rise of Shadows, the Arena will start a regular rotation of available cards from both new and older expansions. To kick things off, the available cards will have a decidedly… E.V.I.L. theme. Here’s which sets you’ll have access to when choosing cards in the Arena, starting April 9:

Not sure if this was supposed to be a question or what, you just repeat what i wrote lol :)
Dunno what others are on about, they did it last year, they did it the year before, they will do it again now with the start of yet another HS year.

If you don't normally play arena, always play until 2 losses, then you get your prize for however many wins you've got, *and* a free arena pass.
(not sure about your initial question about whether or not you'd get a new ticket on rotation)

One does not simply walk into Mordor,
unless they want to be the best they can be.

I'm honestly expecting them to do it this time because they're introducing the set rotations for arena.

Rise of Shadows
Today after the patch hit I got the "We are finishing your run when the rotation happens" warning.
This usually means they will refund the arena run, at least so far. I will just play this to two losses and let it get retired.
