He could use Shavannah highmane instead of hero's power . That way the opponent have to deal with it and he also has a chance to use Kill command with 5 damage , he could have survive more turns and won . He is a very skillful player but i think he's too confident in himself and did not take the safer path .
Slow down Thjis , you still could beat Handsomeguy and then won the tournament .
Thijs did plenty of misplays the whole matchup... between positioning and ordering errors, its surprising he did as good as he did. Face it, if you picked Thijs as your Champion, dont expect many packs.
Srsly though, Auctioneer and them Questing Adventurer... C'mon

Blizzard payed him off. They know that the majority of players picked him, so they figure paying him a large lump sum will cost them less than the money they lose on giving packs to the players who picked him.

He did not expect the opponent has so much damage , Thjis still have 29 health at that turn . also RNG on Jasonzhou this time , Thjis may have won many matches with this aggressive attack but not this time i think . It just surprised me that he used Kill command with only 3 damage .
His biggest mistake was the freezing into snipe against the swashburglar, that was soo bad i almost punched my own face, if he had played Savannah it could have gotten sap'd and he would be out-tempod

Seriously, i mean, what was he thinking? Im not a pro player and even i noticed that. The oponnent knew he had not one, but TWO snipes in the deck, thus he had a good chance at neutralizing snipe and freezing trap, WITH A 1 DROP, which not only gave him a card once, but twice. Like seriously...Thijs?

I also play Secret Hunter so i also faced this situation many times , orginally you want to take advantages of the Cloaked Huntress and the secrets , take swashburglar off and wait is just too slow and you lose board control which is very bad , so instead he just have the board control and Cloaked Huntress could do damage to opponent's face in few turns . I know if it's not swashburglar , Thjis would easily win with that hand . He lost too powerful secrets for the cheap card .

I know you are joking, but I wouldn't be surprised if this were true. We are talking about Blizzard after all...
This may have been the right play from your perspective but not from thijs perspective, if he plays the highmane and his opponent had a sap, he would lose 100%. It was the correct play with the knowledge that thijs had. His play gave him the best chance to win and I'm sure given the same situation, every player in the tournament would have made the same play.
Noone with secret hunter should expect any wins if they are playing the midrange version witch is way too slow. Gonna say that the aggro version is the correct one or no secrets at all but not a midrange hunter with secrets. People need to check the decklists goddemnit and not the names of pro players since this is cardstone and not any kind of skillful game...they are nöt even looking to the opponent to see how their reactions are just like in poker...like there you see that RNG > Skill...

Oh yeah RNG , that's why they gave players many chances , like have to win 4 battles , and then still have the second chance with other loser . They can't really blame RNG for all these matches . I think so .

^ this. The casters even said he probably wouldn't play the highmane because of sap if you had listened. We could see there wasn't a sap IN HAND but Thijs was looking at a rogue with a huge hand that probably had sap and could draw into one as well.
Dude we are talking about PROFESSIONAL esports here and not some kind of random nerds getting together and just playing some childrens card game. Getting nervous or whatever is something you shouldn't expect and if so then just leave it. If you compete in professional hearthstone, you need to stay calm either way and shoudln't do such impossible mistakes. Check out cydonia; he was Mr. Calm himself (And no I didn't vote for Thjis). Normal people couldn't really have managed to read his reactions but from Thjis even a 6 year old could have known that his hand is pretty much garbage. This is also the problem with the secret hunter, especially with snipe that they are relying on good card draws and otherwise tey get rekt
U realize that in that spot Sap = Time Walk right ??? I hope for u u can and with 8-9 cards in hnd is like 70%+ to happen, so never play highmane vs rogue in a similar situation or your winrate is gonna be pretty bad :/
OP must be new to the game or he is just a bad player. :P

I wasn't watching, did Thijs throw the match? I guess e-sports really are real sports.

Just remember the good times!
He made a couple of misplays, dropping the freezing trap into the swashburgler being the biggest one.
I really don't understand why he chose to bring the Hunter deck tho. Seems to be the weakest deck in the tournament.
Anyway, he still has another shot. There are some strong players here but Thijs is still my boy.
Sure he'll recover.
Missing lethal since June 2015.
