    Confirmed mechanics!

@ThePlaceMatt Good job today! Question: Mayor Noggen: ALL hero powers, spells and minions then hit random targets? everything?

    Matthew Place ‏@ThePlaceMatt

    @TheDiscoEffect Everything!! :)

That was pretty obvious from the wording, the real uncertainty is still about what happens with conditional battlecries/spells. Do they pick a target and then fizzle if the condition isn't met, do they require the condition to be met for the initial target selection but still affect the final target even if the condition is no longer met like with Spellbender, or do they only pick a target that meets the condition like Yogg does.

I think this needs clarification before it can be properly judged. The following points:

    1) Does this affect spells + Hero Powers as well as minion/weapon attacks? If it does, it could have a LOT more survivability than people are giving it credit for. Targeted spells would be relatively useless if it does.

    2) Can enemy minions attack their own side (AKA Misdirection) or just other valid targets (AKA Mogor the Ogre). If the former, the could be used in a Yogg Style, Hail Mary play, when you've clearly lost, to try and drag you back in the game.

If they didn't mean all targets then they wouldn't have said all targets. They would have said "when a character attacks" if they meant just characters.
Again, if they didn't mean random targets then they wouldn't say random targets. Characters should attack any character (including the one you actually target since it doesn't say "another target"), and targeted battlecries/spells should choose a random target and fizzle if the target is invalid but battlecries/spells may work like Yogg where it chooses among valid targets (execute would only target damaged minions) and fizzle if there aren't any.

I rated it bad because although I think it's a well designed card, I also think that most of the ways to make it do enough damage are also easily played around. In order to guarantee good damage you need to kill it on the same turn that you play it which makes Power Overwhelming a good combo but if you just leave it on board then it will act similar to a taunt where they trade stuff in and then play more and maybe reduce its attack or silence it.

OTK Priest is back! Hit Embrace the Shadow, Coldarra Drake, and Raza the Chained with Emperor Thaurissan and you can OTK your opponent with the hero power on T10 lulz... Or even just Shadowform earlier in the match then hit just Coldarra Drake and Raza the Chained with Emp and T9 OTK them.

How do you plan on getting a mage card that mages don't play so you can't even steal it from them? Coldarra Drake

For most weapon 1 durability is the exact same as destroying it so the effect is only marginally weaker than Ooze, particularily when dealing with Ashbringer, Atiesh and Spiritclaws (as far as the current meta is concerned).

Doomhammer, Lord Jaraxxus weapon Blood Fury, anything buffed by Grimestreet Pawnbroker or Upgrade! etc, any weapon that control warrior plays on a "do nothing" turn...
Destroy weapon is worth way more than remove 1 durability.

Don't worry, you can still get your 100x 0-3 runs done in just a few hours play time.

    You forgot a possibility...

    - They are going to keep the archetype alive by introducing a new neutral highlander legendary after Reno cycles out.

Unless that's what you meant with your second possibility, but then it wasn't entirely clear to me.

I like Reno, though. So I wouldn't mind if they kept him in standard. But then, more support should be created to increase viability of highlander decks for non-Kabal classes. Warrior and Paladin in particular.

Sort of. #2 is about adding more highlanders (that don't heal a lot) so that highlander becomes a new archetype, but to me the existing archetype is centered around being able to full heal and the highlander part is secondary.

    source??

I hope so, hate aggros... And reno opens an interesting playstile that they seem to like, since they keep making this cards.

What part of my statement in any way resembles fact? There are basically 3 possibilities: either they designed Kabal faction around an archetype (Reno) that they are going to let die, they designed Kabal around the mechanic of an archetype and are going to keep the mechanic going but let the archetype die, or they are going to keep the archetype alive by adding the main card to the classic set or add a weaker replacement.
The way I see things they will either keep Reno or add a similar but weaker form as a replacement if he rotates out because the healing is an essential part of not being able to play strong "2 ofs."

Reno decks are going to be great until Reno rotates out. Not sure that Kazakus and Inkmaster are enough to warrant keeping that style of deck on their own. Wild will have some amazing Reno decks though.

At this point it is starting to look more like "IF" Reno rotates out rather than "when." Reno might become the first card to be added to the classic set.

posted a message on WHY PEOPLE COMPLAIN ABOUT P2W ?

I think the biggest reason is that people look at it from two different main perspectives. TCG players view it as a cheap TCG game but video game players view it as a very expensive (p2w) / time consuming (f2p) video game.

When TCG players talk about how they need to spend thousands to have a competitive deck in a TCG, they are forgetting two things:

    1. TCG's have physical cards that you can sell and resell infinitely so although you may have spent $1000 on a deck, you could turn around and sell it tomorrow and maybe even make a profit. In hearthstone your collection is forever your collection, no trading.
    2. TCG tournaments only require one deck (afaik this is pretty universal for TCG pre-constructed deck tournaments) so to be competitive you just need to have one good deck. In hearthstone you could potentially get top of the ladder with just one deck and you can build one good cheap deck with an investment of maybe $100 (or equal gold grinding time) but to even play in a tournament you need at least four decks, often more, with probably half of them being expensive control decks, which will cost around $1000 to collect enough cards/dust to craft what you need. ie. being able to play competitively in tournaments will probably cost you similarly in TCG and hearthstone.

posted a message on The Story Behind Patches the Pirate

Nothing happens, once it is in your hand you play it like a normal minion.

The first pirate you play (ie. from hand) summons every copy from your deck to the board, they are no longer in your deck.
