What opening plays is the deadliest? Rogue starting with coin Defias Ringleader? Cute. Druid using double Innervate into a Druid of the Claw? Not even close. Warrior with the Fiery War Axe or Shaman with a Stormforged Axe? Tame. Warlock with the mighty Blood Imp into double Flame Imp? Ha, don't make me laugh. Could it be the feared Mana Wyrm coin Mirror Image? Not bad, but it still pales in comparison to the most devastating early game of all time: Priest with the Northshire Cleric surprise. You may wonder how a class so well known for it's tepid early game could possibly have the best opener known to man, but you won't for much longer.
I was playing Rogue (for my daily quest) against Priest today, and he played Northshire Cleric on turn 1A. Ok, that should be fine, I foolishy though. I can just coin out Faerie Dragon and he cannot Shadow Word: Pain nor use Power Word: Shield and heal in the same turn. How wrong was I. He player Power Word Shield, then top-decked Inner Fire. Before I realized what happened, I found myself down the business end of a 5-5 Northshire Cleric on turn 2. It wound up killing 3 cards, drawing 2 cards and dealing 15 damage to me.

What's the most terrifying opening play you've ever seen?
Innervate + innervate + venture co. is a 7/6 on turn 1. Doesn't even need coin.
Definitely dangerous but wrecks your follow-up unless you just slap Mark of the Wild on him afterwards or something similar.
Yea. The only good counter to that opening is an aldor peace-keeper, or humility. No one plays humility, and aldor peace-keeper doesn't come out till turn 3 unless he has coin. Between claw/wrath/ and hero power, you can just keep slapping down his turn 1-3 minions and smack him in the face for 7 each turn. Once he kills the venture co., he's usually at 10-15 life, and that kind of a deficit is really difficult to overcome.

Inveterate on a first anything is going to lead to pain......bad bad pain, and I love the venture on turn 1 in a ramp, it truly is devastating.
..thier is a hard and rarely run counter, but this is where a warlocks, corruption is god send.. your going to get in the face once but it avoids messy trades and is bascially a 3/4 to 1 card trade... with the downside being you got face punched by a really angry donkey to start the game.
Scariest has to be when in the first 2 turns vs a warlock you do not see any imps or murlocs and maybe you might see a voidwalker and he draws a card. At this point you have no idea what he is playing anymore and all that aoe you kept instead of throwing it away for other cards is useless.
I once played a turn 3 Innervate+Innervate+Coin->Ragnaros against a Paladin. He was at full hp at that point and had a 1/1 reinforcement on the field. I first killed the 1/1 with Rags fireball. Then his turn 4 he Truesilvered and swung in (down to 22), Rag at 4 HP. Then on my turn 4 I played Taz Dingo and Rag hit him for 8 (down to 14). His turn 5, he Consecrated and swung at Taz Dingo (down to 13), Rag at 2 HP. Then on my turn 5 I Faceless Manipulator Rag and hit him for 16... I think he was holding another Consecrate and was hoping to kill Rag next turn.
To be honest, I feel dirty playing against Paladins with my Druid deck, if I get the double Innervate into Rag, Ancient of War or Malygos off they just don't stand a chance unless they already had total board control and can Blessing of Kings on something. Only thing that might help them is a lucky Holy Wrath. :P

Just hope they are not carrying a tinkmaster. I have had people do that to me 3rd turn rags, ysera ancient etc and then drop tinkmaster who for some reason seems to enjoy choosing squirrel in these cases.

young priestess coin young priestess vs a warlock is pretty terrifying. basically if you dont have a 2 damage removal on your turn 2, you die :P
Double Innervate > Coin > Ancient of War on turn 2, fuck.
Theorycrafting here, but Double innervate-nourish for mana crystals-wild growth
followed by nourish-wild growth (if second, if first then hero power and wait for cards) on the following turn
Turn 3 Rag
Turn 4 Ysera
Pour out more legendaries.
GG
Well, that's hardly an opener, lol. Open is your first few plays, usually turns 1 and 2.

You hardly need a follow up at that point though, it'll be tough to get rid of on the first 2-3 turns!
Definitely true.
Guys, you're describing some really scary stuff! Double Young Priestess? Ancient of War on turn 2? Rag on turn 3? WTH!! And here I thought Coin -> Defias Ringleader and Mana Wyrm -> Coin -> Shattered Sun Cleric was something exceptional... =)
Screw that. Whenever I get Mana Wyrm > Coin > Mirror Image'd without any spells in my hand I just tab out.

You're not going crazy, I edit 2~3 times each post
That wasn't a terrifying opener, that guy just sucked xD He didn't even attack with his pint sized.

vs lock... I'm paladin...
turn 1 argent squire, he flame imp coin flame imp....
turn 2 i hit 1 imp then used argent protector...
turn 3 he used double blood imp.... and it goes on :// (not that epic i know but after 2 flame imps 2 blood imp is soo annoying)

Shaman: Turn 1 nothing, turn 2 mana addict, turn 3 coin double rockbiter windfury for win
