It's just you. Handlock is extremely powerful but difficult to play. To play it effectively, one has to understand the meta and know most decks in the meta. Since the deck revolves around manipulating your life total, one must know what possible burst damage your opponent is capable of doing. Mulligans are also very important with handlock. Check out karmah on twitch, she hit top 100 playing a dragon handlock. If u still think it's the deck and not you, disenchant and move on.
Like most have suggested, if you're new to the deck, most likely it's you fault that the deck isn't good, Handlock requires mechanical knowledge of the game as well as other decks. Much like most control decks, when someone else uses them they look easy, but when you play them, you realise that the amount of options presented at one time make for very strategic and difficult decisions where even one misplay can usually lose you the game against an opposing aggro deck.
Handlock is the toughest deck to play out of the control archetype.
Why ? It has more win conditions then any other decks out there. Don't blame the deck. The only thing that matters is the one behind the screen directing how the game will be played on your side. YOU !
In other words... you failed to understand how the deck can be played.

maybe.. I haven't bought naxx or brm, so I'm pretty much using crafted/basic cards
you don't have naxx or brm.......yes it's now easy to understand why u think hand lock sucks. These days aggro is like super fast u definitely need 1-2 zombie chows aka NAXX to get a more solid won't ate against aggro. sludge belcher is another core handlock card That is also NAXX and it's so integral to the handlock game plan that before naxx handlock was at best a 2nd tier deck due to the lack of solid 5 drops like loatheb or belcher to last long enough til u can drop the Giants . the last one is emperor which is BRM since handlock strength is having 7-8 cards in hand most of the game to give u huge versatility to handle all kinds of game plans thrown at u and emperor will give u tons of value since ull almost always have a large hand for huge total discounts to generate the tempo u need to do well on ladder . So yes ur right handlock sucks in the current meta if u don't have brm or naxx to properly calibrate ur list

I would call this sub-par Handlock.

What is going on with this community, you guys better give the guy some advice, don't call him skilless just because he struggles versus hyper-aggro.
Truth is fast decks are more and more sticky and refined with each expansion. Nowadays, it comes to lucky hand and proper mulligan so if you by any chance mulligan improperly you throw the only potential wins vs aggro out of the window. Even Control Warrior with Feiry Win Axe can be defeated turn 7 nowadays if he gets no shield blocks/maidens.
You know what's going on. It's Internet.

yeah my advice to get the cards I mentioned earlier in the thread before he can really tap into the potential of handlock. Otherwise the mulligan strategy won't be as optimal and with handlock bad mulligans decrease ur win rate by like 10-15% the difference between a great deck and a shit deck lol. but if he does have those cards then we can start discussion on chow ooze techs along with number of coils and darkbombs, moving on to 1 or 2 owls , then whether to include a 3-drop besides BGH or not, double hellfire one shadow flame or the other way around, loatheb or Sylvanas, put rag in or not , jaraxxus or not etc. THEN after the deck structure is set to go watch like trump or life coach for some execution examples or strifecro, plus have a mulligan guide for handlock open for at least the first 20-50 games THEN we can start discussing properly why handlock have potential weaknesses against aggro and how to over come it without compromising against control match ups too much
I just made a new handlock deck and have lost at least 8 games in a row to face decks. Is it just me or does handlock just suck dick now?
Handlock is a staple control deck. If the other deck is way too agro, you might not have time to pull your insane tricks. You need stopping power. I like the class legendaries for this. I don't have Jaraxxus, but I do have Mal'ganis, which is a pain to aggro decks. Sludge belcher also slows down a lot, although handlocks are more prone to use argus defender and make some 8/8 taunt minions.
My problem with taunt giant is that facehunter has mark and ironbeak and oil rogue has sap. But overall, it's a pretty powerful deck.
I generally get 10-12 wins playing arena, but yes, I must be bad.
Why are your arena wins in any way related to handlock? Yes, you are just bad. Maybe your mistake is one as simple as tapping every turn? Or maybe you don't have enough anti-aggro in your deck? Or you just don't play it right? We can't tell without your decklist.
Oh, and by the way, you don't generally get 10-12 wins because that is far above the average of pros, and you don't have any adventures. If you really did get 10-12 wins and you didn't spend it on adventures, then you must buy a shit ton of packs, right? Well, if you get 700 gold profit every day and spend it all on packs, you're even worse. So you're either lying or dumb :p

This thread is a joke...
This comment is a joke.
On another point... still he learned that Handlock can't be played to it full extent without key cards from expansions he don't have.

He didn't give us the list he is running pal. I'm pretty sure he is missing another key cards also.
If you don't run Zombie Chow and Sludge Belcher below rank 5... you will get fuck more then Theon Greyjoy got.

yea just go up to rank 5 no one plays facehunter there.
how many zombie chows does handlock need?
Well i just lost to a shaman on turn 3. THREE.
Please tell me more about how "I am bad".
kinda like your spelling
Played only handlock so far this season and lost only 5 games so far.
Not weak at all :)
Just my 2 cents
5 out of 5? lmao
