I use it in all my hunter decks and it has won me so many games. I just don't understand why it isn't used anymore. I prefer it over every trap but explosive.
I play a one of Misdirection in my face hunter deck. It is never expected and wins games. People will spend their resources killing your crap charge minions. Then when the board is clear they swing their big minion and it will take out one of their minions or if played well will smash them in the face.
Misdirection is good because people don't expect it. People don't expect it because nobody runs it. If more people ran it, it would become expected and would lose that quality which makes it good.

Even when misdirection was used in the beginning of face hunter it was still really strong. Dont know how many times I've had hand locks KO themselves
I fiddled with a "Secret Hunter" deck for awhile and only ran one misdirection. The deck was just for fun but did a decent enough job (like Rank 13) and misdirection is very situational. Also, it has anti-synergy with lots of hunter traps. Sequencing is very important. For instance you need to play your freezing trap before your misdirections. If you don't the enemy minion is given a different target and then returned to the hand. I can never remember how the sequencing on explosive trap works (as in if the trap still triggers even after a new target was selected) but regardless I think I made my point.

I just see it as a cheaper kill command. Only use it when I know it'll do atleast 3 dmg to face or has a chance to wipe their board. Just a tech card.
Oh yeah, it's fine in many situations. Especially as tech. Just be careful with your Mad Scientists because they can pull out your anti synergies or pull it out when the board is less than optimal. I think it's great you are using it.

Because secret paladin can play around it by sending a 1/1 into it.

You can only play so many traps, and misdirection requires specific circumstances to not be risky
I'll start running two copies if the meta is infested by handlocks.
Right now, all it does is make silverhand recruits attack face.
"Put your face in the light!" - Tirion Fordring
Right now im running double explosive and misdirection in my hybrid deck.

I used it as a third secret in my Aggro Hunter before TGC. Afterwards I replaced it with Bear Trap due to synergy though

It's great in secret joust hunter where you don't have early creatures.if they attack, it's almost always problems for them.
I like to make cards and discuss game balance.
I enjoy when "No similar decks were found."
My latest deck: http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/1366184-scholomance-charge-rez-priest-wild
Because running mis-direction means you cant really run 2 scientests effectively and we all know how perfectly balanced that card is.
