All these seasons I've always played shaman. Then they nerfed buzzard and I feel like I get maybe 55% winrate vs hunter while playing shaman. But I've been playing a lot of hunter and my win % vs shaman is like 30% or so. It's like, I get them to like 16 hp, they play sludge belcher, I work hard to kill it, they play wolves, I work hard to kill them, they play another blecher, then they defender of argus a couple totems and the nail is 100% in the coffin for me. This is my typical game flow vs shaman. The only time I win is when somehow they just didn't get any taunts until they are at like 10 or less hp.
Maybe I'm trying to kill them too fast? I don't know how I'm supposed to pace it. When I play vs hunter as shaman It seems like I'm always practically dead by the time I get to stabilize, but when its the other way around the shaman stabilizes super early every game. I just don't get it. I guess I just suck but still, like i'm sure not every single person is just so much better than me that it should be this way.
Edit: It's kind of funny because I would think that I would do completely horribly vs druid and control warrior, and I'm really just not very scared of either of those classes. I actually win vs them a lot. But shaman, the one who hunter is supposed to beat up is losing so hard! lol, it's wierd ^_^
Edit: I suppose I should add the decks I play. I have tried a bunch of variations of both midrange hunter and aggro/tempo or aggro/face hunter. All the same vs shaman regardless.
if you play midrange hunter with no explosive and realease the hounds is quite normal shamans destroys you, they got the better removal to take out your minions and you got no way to take back the game ( you win arunod 40%)
if you got realease/explosive with midrange the game is even. (you win around 55%)
if you play face hunter without realease/explosive so it is all when he arrives to play taunts. (you win 65%)
if you play face hunter with realease/explosive.... shaman need to get a god draw and you a very bad one to get a chance to survive... (80%+ win)
(all aproxiamtive as how i feel playng all shamans variants.)
Against Shaman, your best weapons are Explosive Trap and Unleash the Hounds. If you have both in your starting hand and play smartly to not run out of fuel, you'll win easily. Eaglehorn Bow is also pretty good as a way to constantly push damage and speed up the clock.
Pretty good advice above me... Honestly, hunter is the most forgiving class and requires the least amount of thinking. Shamans deal with overload, have no healing and are reluctant to spread out their minions because of uth.
If you're struggling with a particular class, the best advice I've received is to start playing that class and figuring out their strengths and weaknesses.
Shaman generally doesn't gain life so you beat them by going to the face early and often. Remember they will spend a lot of time trying to board clear you. Make them take damage early, sucker them with traps mid game, and go for the face to finish out. Don't help them out by trying to trade unless you simply have to.
The worst is when they token the taunt too many times, that can really slow you down, but keep in mind they can only have one of those out, if you can't capitalize that turn, just let it sit there until you can remove it and go face hard. Use your hero power wherever you can as they have no counter to it.

um...i was playing face hunter post nerf...and shaman was one of the easiest matchups
you'll need unleash, explosive, freezing...and go face face face, easy game
the toughest part is probably the early turns...you'll lose board control
but traps/mad scientist/owl/unleash are your best friends
the matchup vs shaman is similar to vs zoo
both will try to dominate the board in the early turns, that's where all those traps+unleash+owl+mad scientist come into play
so how you turn the game around after losing board control is the key to winning
the toughest matchups for my face hunter was warrior+hunter, no joking!

How the $@#$@#$@% do you beat shamans? They seem to have an answer for every single card I play.
