This is my first deck for constructed play. I couldn't find too much info on which heroes to play first or which is best in the meta at the moment so I just went for it with a hunter. I seem to win really big for a few games and then get absolutely crushed for a few in a row. Not sure what is going wrong, but I was hoping to get a couple people to look over it for me and let me know what I should look out for changing.
You should get rid of the snap jaw and replace it with another 4 cost. I suggest a sen'jin shield masta, even though its not a beast. you are light on taunts and this will help.

I think you're definitely right. Maybe I'll also take out the Cobra for the 1/4 defender
Picking Hunter was a good choice! Hunters have the best synergy right now (in my opinion) and do well early on.
I think ur low on Gold due to the fact u just started, so I really would leave the cobra in ur deck. Its great at alle stages of the game to apply early pressure or kill taunt/high dmg/life minions.
I also say to ditch the Snapjaw. I am just not a fan of that card. Maybe try and craft a second Unleash the Hound and another Explosive Trap as well. I find the Hunter synergy works better with a bunch of smaller creatures rather then a few big ones. Savannah Highmanes are nice late game cards but I don't really like the Core Hounds. With only 5hp I find they die too easy. The Highmanes at least have that nice deathrattle efffect. I would get a could dire wolves and a second Ironbeak Owl. I took multishot out of my deck as well since I found it to have pretty limited use since it requires there to be two targets. I put a Deadly Shot and an Explosive Shot in instead. Deadly Shot is great early game removal when there is usually a limited number of minions and Explosive is great mid game.
I am thinking of taking out the two stealth cats but not sure what to replace them with. I would like to get a Defender of Argus or two at some point to add some more minion buffs and taunt but I dont have the dust for them yet.
You say you are getting crushed sometimes, what problems do you notice? One thing I learned is to not just drop you minions whenever you can but to plan out as much as you are able to, especially against mages and priests since they have a lot of removal. Holding on to a few beasts and an UtH while stalling with taunt creatures and then dropping them all for a big single turn rush can work really well. Just keep practicing. Don't be afraid to try out new cards and combos with your deck and play out every match until the end, even if you are getting stomped. It's the best way to learn what works well in certain situations and against certain classes and what does not. Anyone can just copy a well constructed deck but knowing how to play well is also important.
I don't know I like the Oasis Snapjaw especially with a hound master giving it taunt. That's a lot of life to get through. If you really want more taunt I'd get Silverback Patriarch. At least he's a beast.
I run one Snapjaw in my deck as well. Houndmaster makes him a 4/9 taunt. With the right buffs I've been able to get my Snappy to a 7/9 Taunt (1x Dire Wolf, 1x Timber Wolf and UtH, so there's potential for even more). If you play him right, he can be a game changer, but he's still a bit situational, so I only keep the one

This is my current deck and it is still a work in progress, but I do pretty well with it: http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/15465-hunter-work-in-progress
