Apparently in Beta Nat Pagle was 50% chance to draw a card at the END of turn instead of the start, and that he was basically an auto include in every deck.
I feel like that may have been an era where card advantage was king, but now with all the aggro tempo is king. Also, 50% chance to draw a card fits in pretty well with the GvG theme. It doesn't seem to me like it would be OP at all.
What say you, could Nat Pagle be un-nerfed and not break the game?
I still think Blizz blew it on the nerf. Because it has a percentage it should be adjustable on a continuum to balance it. They could have made the chance to draw a card 36% or whatever would make it balanced. They don't have that luxury with Gadgetzan Auctioneer or Leeroy Jenkins.

Just from a pure lore perspective it wouldnt make sense: its a card with a name how can their be two of it in one deck? (correct me if im wrong but i cant think of any non legendary card that refers to one named individual)
Also from a game perspective I like him as a legendary, its a gimmicky card, not all cards need to be better than average (since that is a contradiction in itself).

After the nerfs I have litterally seen 0 decks utilizing Nat Pagle. He is such a weak body, can ONLY be used in the early game or with taunts up, and can easily miss 2-3 times in a row providing zero value.
Why is it exactly he isn't made into a epic or even rare card? Two of him would probably be super bad to run, but costing 1600 dust to craft seems absolutely insane. Obviously I would like him buffed, but my question is if people think he should remain a legendary.
I'm confused. Do you want to craft him but because he's a Legendary, you don't wanna use 1600 dust to do so? Is that why you want his rarity changed?
Yup, he sucks now, but changing his rarity won't make him better, it just means you'll see him more often and disenchant him for less.
And as far as I know Blizzard has only ever changed the rarity of 2 cards. Questing Adventurer from common to rare, and Flesheating Ghoul from rare to common, and this was back in closed Beta. I doubt Blizzard will change the rarity of any cards now that Hearthstone is released.

he probabaly got nat pagle, played it, realised it was a steaming pile, needed to vent his anger
Of course he should stay legendary, no named characters are possible to be ran as a two-of. If anything, the fact that he's a unique character guarantees that he will be a legendary (although his mechanic is totally unique as well).
If Blizzard was to change him to be able to be ran as a two-of, he must be something other than Nat Pagle, something more general; then what, change him to "Smiling Fisherman"? Otherwise even his mechanics/graphics would have to be changed, and it just seems like a huge hassle over some absolutely irrelevant shit.
Especially considering the fact that Blizzard stated multiple times (even recently) that they hate changing cards unless it's ABSOLUTELY necessary, and I think everyone can agree that there are quite a few better candidates right now.

Are you insane? Why on earth do you want a higher chance of opening this card in packs and to dust him for less?

He isn't terrible, he's a manatide totem with a downside that can be played a turn earlier. It's just that there are other neutral card draw mechanics that are better for different classes.

I don't have Nat Pagle, and I played sine closed beta. I just don't like the card in its current state, and I have some serious doubts that Blizzard will give him a buff considering how reluctant they are to buff cards again (just look at how long Dr. Boom has stayed as he is)

What do you mean? If you change him to epic for example, he'll still dust for 1600 for the ones who currently have him, just like Sylvannas and other card that are being changed. He'll only be worth 400 once he was changed

I'm not thinking from a lore perspective, I'm looking at the card as it is. A lot of people in this thread has argued that from a lore point of view, it would not make sense, but let us be honest, this game isn't completely lore-proof is it ;)
Forget the name. I was purely looking at the card as it is.
If you are experienced in CCG or TCG, you would know that not all cards in the rarest form are good cards. Just like how there are rares like Angry Chicken, there will be Legendaries like Nat Pagle and Lorewalker Cho, as well as epics like Anima Golem. It's part of balance.
Also, lore is important because it adds flavor to the game.

The issue I have with this is that it doesn't seem very legendary to me? I love the way the cards are currently ranked, and that legendaries usually have some really cool effects, but when they are worse than a rare class card, it really seems like he is just legendary for the sake of being legendary. Obviously we can have some fun cards, but if we just look at balance relative to rarity.
Meh, by that logic any given deck would include at most a few commons, reluctantly, to fill in gaps once you'd used all the rare and epic and legendary cards you could possibly need. In fact, we have cards like Flamestrike which are some of the best in the game without a premium rarity.
Legendary doesn't have to mean legendary performance, just the least likely to pop up in arena or a pack and an effect which oughtn't be in a deck twice.
I think the way he was before nerfed should be the way he should be in the future. Decks and Meta can and will be build much more agressiv as back then when he was "OP". I like fishing though.

Totally. Though he is still somewhat useful in his nerfed form
I need YOUR feedback on my ideas for this weeks card contest!

Fear me, for i am the Slayer of Stupid, Incompetent, minions!
I got him twice in a row ... :s
Maybe useful in Shaman or Zoo?
honestly i'm pretty sure it would be too slow in most if not all decks.
He would still be pretty useful... but I guess the meta has become so fast pace that he's not that much OP without the nerf.
Used to be a proud Handlock player.
Legend 17 times.
Still flirting with the ladder from times to times with Renolock.

Nat Pagle is a joke card. For funsies. Not every card has to be playable.
What you mean? Nat Pagle isn't a joke character in WoW like Leeroy Jenkins is. (since like Raid Leader, they're based on players)
Don't know anything about Wow. But he's clearly a funsies jokey card. He's fishing for cards. It's hilarious.
I have him in a deck, he still causes major heartburn. The opponent cries in their beer and then wastes crazy removal. Then I drop Zap o Matic

The reason he got nerfed was because whoever drew nat pagle at the beginning pretty much won.
