So I'm kind of torn between which one to put in a control warrior deck. I like the idea of trogg, but dr. Boom has so much value with the boom bots. Some streamers are totally against trogg because they think it's a "win more" card. However, I don't think any game is won until your opponent's health is 0. Trogg is a disrupter, nuisance, and closer imo. Also, some say you have to put trogg on an empty board. My theory is on turn 7+ if you can't drop a decent size minion without it getting completly traded, then you've lost the game as a control warrior, or you need to clear the board with spells (Or drop sylvanas).
As you can see I'm partial to troggzor, but im really considering Dr. Boom. He's got great stats and can generate tons of value with the boom bots. However, he can get BGHd. Has anyone specifically tested both in a control deck? If so, which one do you prefer?
I didnt think of that. Getting a bomb stolen from cabal. One thing I like a lot about troggzor is if he's played against priest, they can't SWD him unless they want to deal with a burly trogg.
I own neither but Im willing to craft the Dr. I have tried Trade Prince Gallywax which is somewhat similar to Troggzor and Gallyway does not provide enought power on T6 and ongoing.
Seriously? Damn i would have assumed Gallywix was one of the best legends out there, especially for tempo. Mega ogre that has a degree of spell protection.
I like both, but they serve a different purpose. Troggzor is a spell-deterrent while Dr.Boom is a minion/board-deterrent.
In my Warrior deck I use both but I tend to prefer Dr.Boom because the 1-1 exploding minions can help a lot: they can ping a target that suddenly becomes Executable without having to hit with a weapon or Dr.Boom itself, they can snipe small stuff or they can drop some nice damage to the face, and around turn 7/8 it's always good to see the opponent's hp drop. So far Dr.Booms best play for me was when my opponent answered it with an Ancient of War. I sacked both bombs, one hit face and the other one hit the Ancient. Armor Maiden + Hero Ability + Shield Slam and the game was over.
In my Priest deck I use Troggzor and it has worked very well so far.
The thing about Troggzor is that you can't really be sure he's getting full value, a bit like Loatheb in fact.
I mean, when you play Dr Boom, you can see what he offers in term of board presence, he triggers execute thanks to the bomb and with luck involved he might get more things done. He's also a 7/7 so your opponent can't really neglect him.
When you play Troggzor, you get a 6/6 that can't get BGH that's the good part. However, as a 6/6 he's a bit short in killing big minions. So he might get killed by minions and that's all. The problem i have with him is that i can't be sure that i'm forcing my opponent to trade Trogg with minions BECAUSE he can't or doesn't want to kill him with a spell. The same way that sometimes you just drop Loatheb because that's your best play on that turn but you can't be sure that he's disrupting any playable spell on your opponent's hand. I'm not comparing Loatheb to Troggzor, just saying that it might be hard to really evaluate the level of nuisance the card is actually having on that particular moment for your opponent.
In the end it's mostly about the kind of deck you're playing. On a control Warrior i would go for Dr Boom because the extra value of the Bombs are matching the CW end game plan. On a more straightforward Aggro deck i would go with Troggzor because it can be nice to fill the board with extra minions in case of hard removal or board wipe.
Dr. Boom is fantastic in control decks and I'd go as far as saying it's one of the best cards you can have in a warrior deck. As for Trogg, I see it as more of a win-more type of card. I watched Kit-Katz stream tonight, and he was talking about how him, Reynad, and Hyped had this large discussion about how they feel Trogg is overrated at this point. It was something along the lines of you get instant value from Dr. Boom, where as Trogg has the potential to be nothing more than a body on the board. Also, in cases where you get a lot of value from Trogg, you're probably already ahead, or playing someone who really doesn't know how to deal with it (meaning you would already probably win without it).
I do not have Dr Boom, so my comment may be of little value lacking comparison but I have great experiences with Trogg so far. Nearly everytime yields at least one 3/5, if he yields a second and by this the first is even buffed the game is halfway won (OK, rank 16-14 admittedly). Additionally, I have no idea about the number of spells my opponent would have liked to play but did not. I am happy having Trogg :-)

Battle doesn't need a purpose; the battle is its own purpose. You don't ask why a plague spreads or a field burns. Don't ask why I fight.
Basicly i kinda like Troggzor so far. I prob wont craft him over other legendaries but i got him from a pack.
For me he has some hidden value. YES i got almost no little troggz from him wich makes his ability a bit useless...BUT same as Windrunner he´s forcing your opponent to play a little bit different wich is great. Same like on minions with high value abilities that are some sort of taunt cause your enemy needs to kill them fast i rate troggzor in the same archtype i think. he has value..but it´s a hidden one to put pressure onto your enemies decisionmaking
Troggzor has probably become my favorite Legendary of the release. The only downside being, that for him to be effective, you really have to have board control. Even if you do, more often than not he gets removed by a spell anyways... but you still get that 3/5 which is nice. Checking for removals first helps, but doesn't always work.
Dr. Boom on the other hand, is pretty good any time. He can help you catch up, or further solidify.

Troggzor is meh. I regret crafting him
Time is precious. Waste it wisely. Legend Seasons: 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17
Current deck: Not playing much anymore
Highest rank: legend rank 9 Highest finish: legend rank 103 Infinite Arena Player
I was really excited about Troggzor when I forst got him from a pack, but so far I have to agree that it's hard to get much value out of him.
Dr Boom has been great so far. Mind you I don't play control warrior though
Just my 2 cents

I've had no reason to play troggzor so far, opportunities don't come up. I use dr. boom in a mimiron's rogue deck, at least.

I've got both and I've found Troggzor to be more helpful in a wider variety of decks.

Got Galliwyx and it's really funny how the opponent start to stress out once he's on the board.
I wanna get Troggzor to try a version of :
- turn 5 Loatheb
- turn 6 Galliwyx
- turn 7 Troggzor
And for the fun, let's bounce Loatheb with shadowstep :)
