the deck I'm currently playing might end up being good with a corpse taker or 2 due to having zilliax that can activate all but one of the buffs.
I'm just not sure whether to risk spending 400 dust on one now when they will rotate from standard in a couple of months. It's not like it's essential by any means.
also I'm 100% how it works. does the activator(s) have to be in the deck, or can they be in your hand as well?
I may craft one to try out for when chief inspector isn't pulling it's weight (fewer hunters) but lifedrinker is a card that could fill this slot quite easily (and I already have those)
I have wanted to try out the takers for while though and they do go in a lot of decks, so maybe just getting one to be able to use it for a bit before it rotates isn't that bad of an idea. I mean if it helps me win games and futhermore nets me a lot of fun, thewn it would totally be worth it.
I don't know this new set much at all yet and the dust could be saved to get newer cards though, so really not sure.
If your fully into the deck that needs Corpsetaker, I recommend you craft it if it's essential. Regarding your question about minions in your hand, the minions with the buffs must be in your deck.
Craft it. If you enjoy winning as you said you do, then do it. It does help you win more games. And is a core card in some of the top meta decks today.
All decks that run Corpsetaker also run a windfury card though, because that makes the card so much better. (I'm assuming that's the one buff you're talking about which your deck doesn't have.)
Also most decks run more than just Zilliax to apply most of the card's buffs. So no, if you deck can't satisfy both these conditions I don't think it's worth crafting Corpsetaker just for that reason.
The cards need to be in the deck in order for the buffs to apply. Hand doesn't count.

the deck doesn't ned it, there is just some synergy there. TBH if it was just for this deck I will most likely will spend the dust on newer cards that don't rotate this year. thanks for info though.

winning is part of the game, but fun comes first. I don't think I need it for this deck so just not sure really. I guess I will see when I face more new decks.
I was enjoying playing some weird rogue decks a few months ago. the one I'm playing now is a little more geared towards winning, but I will probs pick up some form of miracle rogue soon enough when I get bored of playing tempo.

yeah I was thinking that just for this purpose it would not worth it. thanks for the info though as this really helped.
I doubt I'll be playing anything that really needs the card so best off just saving the dust for when I find something I do need.
I was going to craft those banana guys, but theres no point as will just get them in packs anyway.
Currently they are a dominant card in the meta and appear in many decks. So you will get a lot of use before rotation.
But they do rotate out soon. So if you are a budget player (i.e FTP and not playing many hours), then maybe you want to look at other options that will still be around post rotation.
Of course there is also wild, so the cards can still be used.
its only 400 dust for each so go ahead. There's still plenty of time to the next rotation.
true. I think I am going to hold off though as there will be other cards I need more once I discover the new meta properly.
I was actually thinking of working toward a hunter deck as well as it's been ages since I've played hunter. I like the interaction with the new legendary and the epic that makes things poison. I just got wrecked by that combo tonight.
I would really like to get a good rogue deck going though. I just don't like using the basic odd or tempo package though as it must be so boring to play against those decks now. has to have a little innovation you know.
I am intrigued if pogo with shark spirit is going to be any good. judging on the fact I have yet to see a pogo rogue since I returned though is probably a sign that it's not fairing so well unfortunately.
I always was very reluctant to craft it because of the rotation. But I always wanted 2 corpse takers because I got all cards for even paladin. I got to rank 5 yesterday not long before the end of the season.
What did I get as my golden epic? A corpsetaker. So I had to craft the other one and enjoy the card very much. Just won vs. control warrior with coin into corpsetaker into dual blessing of kings. GG on turn 5. So craft it. It's just an awesome card atm.
Personally I'd hold off unless you had 2-3 decks that would benefit from adding the card right now, and the data is available to prove it. Rotation is a big time- you really want to have all the dust available that you can. On top of that rotation means more cards in the Hall Of Fame, and that is a direct investment of your dust to amplify some returns. If it was classic legendaries/epics on your mind that's usually a safe bet, but cards getting ready to rotate are mostly not worth it from a budget or casual standpoint. Even on the ranked/hardcore end: You are paying 4 times the amount now you will receive back in 4 months.

thanks man. I have decided against crafting anything at all for now. might as well hold on to what little dust I have.

It is a very hard and held back decision. Trust me even after years of playing the game and being relatively close to completing a strong collection, I still have cards I'd like to make now that are rotating that aren't worth it. You feel it more now, but I swear you'll feel good about holding back come April.

yeah man. I can make do with the stuff I have now and just open a few packs with gold from the new set as I go.
should be fine.

I'm probably better just not crafting it, right?

Achieved Legend: S49-Even Paladin, S58 (Wild)- Odd Rouge + Even Shaman

I was thinking like you befor I crafted Doomsayer. Now I don't use it so often but I can build some decks that I enjoy with it.
Mirci#21636
doomsayer is base set though so a very worthwhile craft. corpsetaker will be out of standard in a few months time.
I never regretted crafting doomsayers, even though I've not used them loads, they will always be useful.
Depends on how dust rich or poor you are.

So are we supposed to guess what deck u need for Corpsetaker.
sorry dude. it's in my sig.
I don't "need" it neither, was just an idea.
