I used to play a lot of yogg decks back when Whispers was first released. Then when Yogg was updated and he fell out of the meta, I dusted him. I'm playing a lot of secret mage and have been using Pyroblast in the place of Yogg. I feel that having Yogg could help me win matches more consistently. Is it a good idea to craft him now or should I wait until the release of Knights of the Frozen Throne?
I dust when was nerfed but crafted again to play in rogue, the lack of mass removal is critical in some games and rogue play a lot of spells, it is fine after nerf because you play him when is behind and most of the time he put you back in the game, the worst spell Astral don't is in standard anymore.
Hi ! well... I play Yogg a lot in my Mage deck, and i would not say he is "consistent", while Pyroblast is a consistent way of victory.
First of all, yes, the Yogg nerf made his power decrease, it's still a good and viable card, but...
...As you know, Yogg is a 100% RNG card, it's all luck or bad luck. He gave me a good outcome even after him was nerfed a lot of times, with secrets, minions and good things.
but also, i had bad outcomes sometimes too, i lost track how many times Yogg-saron turned himself in "Frog-Saron" in his first spell (not kidding, he really did, lollol).
But overall, i have no regrets, Yogg has more good outcomes than bad outcomes (there is more spells that could help you, than destroy you), and he is so fun to play, but again, as i said before, is not "Consistent", while Pyro is 100% do 10 damage to something, while yogg can kill you or your opponent.
Put in your mind, though, that the chances of having a better yogg outcome is while the board has a large number of minions, this way, yogg himself has more probability of escaping spells that could destroy or silence him, like the Hex i said or a fireball or a purify, for example.
if you're feeling lucky, i would say that you could put yogg in your deck instead of pyro. Who knows ? maybe the RNG is on your side and you could have luck !
But, thinking more rationally, i would say that you should wait for the KFT new expansion, wait to see if there will be a more powerfull legendary for use in your secret mage deck and make it better. =)
My personal opinion, is that Yogg isn't good because relying on RNG to win you a game never work out the way you want to. Don't get me wrong there is sometimes where Yogg can win you the games and then there are game where Yogg will kill him self or kill you. Also it's not like Yogg is any deck (only one I can think on the top of my head is secret mage (maybe). But on the other hand you can put him any deck a pray to RNGesus that you get a positive results (any deck with spells). Yogg is a RNG glass cannon and you don't know what going to happen ,but if you the dust sparingly then craft him. Me personal wouldn't recraft him and I wouldn't recommend that a new player craft him because too much RNG can lose you the game.
4. Will be in wild soon. ( I think after frost) if you like wild ignore this point.
I too dusted him and I regret it... Not because he's good or bad but because of the memes and how fun it was. It's your choice and your dust I say wait though or just no.

He won't be in wild until April of 2018 when the first expansion of the year is launched.
I don't think the fact that a better version once existed matters: the question is whether the current version is good enough. For example, the current version of Execute is good enough and still gets played a lot, while the current version of Warsong Commander is not.

It will move to Wild when the first set of 2018 is released; there will be one set in 2017 after KotFT. If the current schedule is kept with 4 months between sets, the next rotation would be in April 2018.
I agree that just before an expansion is the worst time to craft cards. I'd wait until at least a week after, when it starts becoming clear which cards are better and which are worse than predicted.
When it comes to cards that produce swings, would Deathwing be an option? Not in a combo deck like Secret Mage obviously, but perhaps in mid-range and control decks.

If you dusted yogg you don't deserve to get to use him again

Crafting the legendary before expansion (new meta ) seems not meaningful for me.

Seen more Yogg fails than successes, maybe one or two saves since Un'goro.
Better off with other RNG sources.
For me, no.
Just because this card heavily relies on high/low-roll, which is a bad experience to my opponent and myself
Simple answer: No
Educated answer
Pros.
1 May save your ass (RNG)
2. Fun
3. Meme
Cons.
1. Nerfed
2. May kill your ass (RNG)
3. Crafting before expansion? lol?
4. Will be in wild soon. ( I think after frost) if you like wild ignore this point.

G=Good B=Bad Do you see the pattern? Every second expansion is always trash.
G: Goblins V Gnomes , Old Gods, unguro
B: TGT, gadgetzan, Knights (Unreleased so MAYBE)
