I have edited the post and added some extra suggestion at the bottom, just above the stats screenshot.
So because I am not a fan of control decks I've been playing this secret mage. I play this one currently but from time to time I switch 1-2 cards. Also just as a note, I am just a casual player and I play only mage :)
Last month I came back into the game after 1 year and a half of break and I crafted a mage deck based on secrets with which I pretty much advanced from 25 to 8. I would've probably advanced more but I started playing in the last 5 days of the season.
This season I played another variation of this deck, a bit different but in the same secrets league, and managed to get to 12 so far (after I reached 15 I went trying different mage decks, more control decks, but ultimately I came back to secrets and crafted this one recently.
I play pretty much only mage, just cause it's my cup of tea. I have uploaded on Youtube a few videos with a variation of secret mage so you can get an idea. Those videos are from last month's season and I still have to upload more since I reached rank 8 with my secrets deck, I just hadn't had the time to put up all the videos I recorded.
Here's the playlist with those videos. You'll find videos from 17 to 13 and probably tomorrow I will upload the rest of the videos 'til rank 8.
Here is the link to all the existent videos, to the playlist with some secret based decks
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLW_oE8lN5ufQXggcee2yHG-bIXE2D0w7l
and below is the first recorded video.
UPDATE
Had some time and I managed to record a some gameplays using this deck. I will probably record more in the following days while I'll have some spare time from work. You'll see plays against druids, priests, mages, a warrior, a pala, as far as I remember :) Check it below:
You will find below a screenshot with the current stats for this deck. The druids I beat were playing Jade so that's that. I just hope it can help you out guys. It's 10 games but still. All those 10 games were played starting from Rank 15.
Also, just a couple of things:
1. Regarding Yogg - This is a great card in this deck, it saved me a couple of times, it filled my board with minions every time :). Until you put him down make sure you play as many spells as you can, you have 17 spells + 2 from PG so that's that.
2. Regarding Medivh - People tend to play this only if they have big spells in their deck but in this deck it works like a charm. The idea here is to use your spells and fill the board thanks to its mechanics. Most of the times I end up using Firelands, Fireball, and some spells from the Primordial Glyph if the cost is at least 4.
3. Regarding Pyroblast - Many times I end up taking the other person below 10 or at 10, and Pyroblast is top notch.
Another simple suggestion, go face as much as you can. You have removals, use those, and just hit the face. Normally the deck can take you in ultra long games and you can win, but it would be a good idea to not want to do that.
If you will watch the videos I shared you will see that with a similar secrets deck I won really, really late. You can also replace one Mirror Entity with another Frozen Clone. It might cut a bit of speed but you will have 2 extra minions in your hand for those late situations. So with 2 Frozen Clones + 1 Mirror Entity you can get 5 extra minions.
I had a couple of games that went for 20 mins and I still won, just check my videos :)
In my opinion you have plenty of things in this deck. You have 17 spells + 2 from PG, you have 13 minions + 4 from Frozen Clones and Mirror Entity + 1 from Firelands + 3 from Medivh + whatever Yogg gives you.
If this deck helps your game, feel free to upvote it and if there is interest I can give more suggestions.
I will most probably build/test other decks and most probably those will end up on Youtube so if you want to be updated feel free to subscribe
Cheers and much love !
EDIT:
People are asking what to change Yogg with and the answer is rather simple, there isn't anything like Yogg but we can add another card that might go well with the deck.
Here are some of the options:
1. Arcane Giant - it's always nice to play an 8/8 with a low amount of mana, depending on how many spells you used. I would suggest to lower its cost as much as possible so that you can play other cards as well in the same turn.
2. Ethereal Arcanist - this might also be good, it has 3/3 and at the end of the turn it gains +2/+2 if you have a secret; so for things to be 100% sure, I would suggest to put him down only when you have an active secret. Don't do something like, "I will put him down now, and next round I will just put the secret".
3. Avian Watcher - Normally has 3/6 but with a secret on it will gain +1/+1 and Taunt
4. The Black Knight - for all those nasty taunt situations, plus it will save you 1-2 removal spells which you can use in a different way, face maybe :)
Other suggestions:
If you want some more minion power for late games, you could remove 1 Mirror Entity and add another Frozen Clones. I would suggest to keep those 2 Counterspells, don't remove any of those.
If you feel like you don't need 2 Arcane Intellects, you can remove 1 and maybe add an extra Firelands Portal (gaining an extra minion + 5 dmg).
Now you have 2 Volcanic Potions. You can also keep 1 Volcanic Potion and add 1 Flamestrike, that depends on you and your needs.
Still working fine,so keep updated pls :)
Played this deck rank 12 to 7 and going up. Really good against meta decks if you know where to use the secrets.
Flamestrike is a good AOE removal, even though it has a higher cost, but it also deals double damage and does the damage only to enemy minions. I kept Flamestrike out just because I wanted a low cost decent AOE removal card for those nasty aggro situations.
Twilight Flamecaller could be another option, the only thing is that it does 1 damage, but it does that damage only to the enemy minions + you get an extra minion to play.
Arcane Explosion is another one, even though it deals only one damage, but it's also cheaper.
I mean ideally maybe craft 1 Volcanic Potion and add 1 Flamestrike until you can craft the 2nd one. Or maybe play 1 Twilight Flamecaller and 1 Flamestrike. Test it out and see :)
Cheers !
A sample of just 10 matches is way to small to declare a deck "90% winrate" sorry to burst your bubble son, you need to do a sample of at least 50 matches
Son, this made me laugh hard, I said in the initial post that there are 10 games only. I didn't came in stating that I found the answer to this world's prayers, I didn't say this is a meta breaker, nothing like that. I just wanted to share a fun deck, maybe some other people wanted to try it out, and that's all.
I made an extensive post about it right from the start, I shared some videos, I basically gave some of my free time for the community; and I'm not a 15 year old with lots of free time. What I had to earn from this? Nothing. Did I want to earn something? No.
It seems that sometimes sharing is not a great idea. Whatever, son !
Still, stating "90 WR" in your title just makes you look like an idiot, son.
Being badass behind a monitor, you da real MVP.
Is that all you got, son?
Is there anything i can play instead of Primordial Glyph ?
Primordial Glyph is a key card in almost ALL mage decks, highly recommended card if you like the mage class. But to answer your question, there are a lot of discovery cards like Kabal Courier -although 1 card will be a mage card and not sure a spell card-, and you have the random spell generators like Babbling book and Cabalist's Tome as well as Shimmering Tempest.
I have a small question... Isn't Medivh, the Guardian too slow? By the time you play Medivh, you could've casted most of the spells. I am low player, just asking.
I usually don't hold off my spells only cause I have to play Medivh. There are 19 spells in this deck (including the extra 2 from the Glyph) so you should be just fine. You won't use all of them until you are going to be able to put him down. I am pretty sure you will still have Firelands and Pyroblast by the time he pops in your hand :). Plus you also need to cast spells in order to feed Yogg.
And also regarding Pyro, There are times when I use that combined with Medivh's weapon so that I can get a nice 10 cost minion. If the opponent is at 15 life let's say and I have the weapon, I will use Pyro, especially if he's low on minions on the table. In that case the opponent will be left at 5 life and you'll get a nice finishing minion on the table. Just an idea :)
Go with the flow :)
I mean Pyroblast is here for the face, to finish things up, so that's that. Replacements won't be the same, or at the same level, but you can try an extra Firelands Portal, Greater Arcane Missiles (but in this case your opponent should have the board clear in order to receive 9 dmg).
Pyroblast is the best thing here, other things are not that good.
Yeah, you've got to pray a bit to the RNG Gods, haha. It helped me many times, but it also was "meh" a couple of times but it never screwed me that much. However, I try to put him down when I don't have many minions on the table, maybe 1-2 low minions.
I always try to play as aggressive as I can, hitting the face as much as I can, and removing only challenging minions. You'll have to do that, especially against priest. I actually fear priest more than Jade Druid with this deck.
Besides Bonemare you could also try:
Ethereal Arcanist - You could play this later on, the earliest you could play this dude could be turn 5, together with a Kabal Lackey, for the sinergy.
Avian Watcher - Normally has 3/6 but with a secret on it will gain +1/+1 and Taunt
The Black Knight - This could also be an alternative, having the fact that in this meta you'll actually see some big ass taunt minions, so you'll get a minion and it will destroy a taunt minion. I would've included him somehow in this deck but I don't have the card, and I don't have the required dust. Plus this card will save you 1 or 2 removal spells.
I will update my post today, adding some possibilities and some other things.
Yeah Arcane Giants are also nice. Could also go well with a Molten Reflection (if that comes up in the Primordial Glyphs, and if you don't have other better spells to pick from).
very funny deck! thx
No problem ! :)
Would Alexstrasza be a good replacment for yogg saron?
Could work, yeah
