Hi.
I made a control hunter deck that actually does not suck!
Beats most other control decks with tempo, value and boardclears.
Beats aggro with cheap taunts.
The core of the deck:
Control the board with Doomsayer, traps and board-clears etc.
Full board-clear is achieved with Baron Geddon plus Toxic Arrow. Nobody expects a boardclear from a hunter, therefor nobody plays around it. Abomination could also be substituded for Baron Geddon, though at two mana less it it has the drawback of being delayed and giving the opponent a chance to react.
Toxic Arrow also synergizes with the Acolyte of Pain for draw two cards and kill something.
Once you played Deathstalker Rexxar, clearing the board one final time with Deathwing is actually not half bad, since they need to deal with a 12/12 body on their turn and you get to slam a fat build-a-beast the turn after that, anyway. So a true tempo swing in the lategame, if needed!
Card decisions:
I opened up a Prince Valanar and found no better 4 drop to play, hunter need heal. This might be the only deck this prince will ever find a home. Other healing options and other 4-drops can definetly be techd.
Blowgill Sniper x2 is pretty weak-sauce, BUT in it´s defense:
1. Pings Acolyte of Pain
2. Activates Hunter´s Mark
3. Is drawn by The Curator
4. Fits the curve
5. I had Coldlight Oracle run in the deck for a while instead of the Acolyte of Pain, very good against draw heavy control decks there is a lot of this meta, but of course very weak against aggro.
No Savannah Highmane because you can build better beasts with Deathstalker Rexxar.
The deck runs 4 different secret traps. This is so they can be potentially just be played when drawn, without worrying about them nullifying each other or having two of a kind. Freezing trap is countered by too many little token minions right now, misdirection often enough makes a big thing hit another thing and not your face, so 2 mana kill something + heal 8? Pretty good.
In a grindy game try to get lifesteal and poisonous on your beasts, and the Raptor Hatchling effect against fatigue.
Seriously though guys, try out this deck if you have the cards, I am climbing the ladder like crazy with it and having a blast :)
Let me know what you think,
like and share this sh*t!
Enjoy!

Bad... Bad vs everything...
I have everything except the toxic arrows and the prince. Is the Toxic arrows worth crafting if I sub in an abomination for the prince or would Geddon + 1 abom be overkill? I been having some rough luck with hunter especially post rank 9. However, it does look more fun to play than the more "standard" stuff I am running.
I dusted my Barron Geddon :(. . What's a good sub for him?
I know that Baron stays on the board when you use Toxic Arrow, but 3 HP is easily removed and 9 mana combo would be pretty expensive, no?
Sgt. Sally + Toxic Arrow for 6 mana or even Wild Pyromancer + Toxic Arrow doenst make more sense?
I'm just asking because i loved this deck and i'm considering crafting it.
Thanks for the fast reply, do you have any replay from your games?
I always wanted to play some Hunter deck besides aggro/midrange, but i'm afraid that it does not work for laddering.
This reminds me of another obscure control hunter I played a few years ago. It's totally unexpected, getting combos off feels really good and it's a flashy deck in general. I loved the first one and I love this one!
Hahaha such a fun deck! Finally a use for my Rexxar DK!
Super fun to play! Only been playing it on casual tho. 5-0 at the moment :D
Replaced the Prince for a Bloodworm. But i believe Arfus would also be a good replacement.
EDIT: Ended up 10-4, i noticed that i only lose against extremily agro matchups, or in control matchups where my Acolites were easily killed causing me to enter in topdeck mode in the lategame. The best thing about this deck is that... well is to friggin' fun to play a hunter that doesn't revolve around beasts... oh! and the toxic arrow + baron gedon has won me... 4 games i believe, it is not that hard to do. Must admit that the Bloodworm has also won me around the same amount of games... people are not used to see that card being played so most of the time they just leave it alone and i can trade it as i see fit, it usually heals for me about 8hp, sometimes more, which is really important against agro matchups. I also love how little shits this deck gives about using Deathwing, as long as you don't discard the DK you can create absolutly insane beasts every single turn and outvalue -almost- anyone in the lategame.
The only big problems i found with this deck were the lack of healing, and not-that-uncommon card starvation.
But the fun-factor was what really sold the deck for me, it's really sad that it's pretty expensive so not many people will be able to try the deck :(
You deserve some spotlight, i've always wanted to make a control hunter. This seems actually pretty good, i'd like to see it being played. Althought, i'm not sure about some cards.
