Look how scared the little punk looks... Das' because he aint got nothing against this sweet deck yo.
Info about Noth, the Plaugebringer
Noth doesn't really have a strong early game. Due to this, having a good starting hand can seal the deal with this deck. However, he has a few tricks up his sleeve due to his amount of secrets. He plays Duplicate, Ice Block and Counterspell. Due to his hero power summoning a 5/5 skeleton for each minion on your own board dying, avoiding trades killing your own minions is key.
"How do I play around Plague?", is a question that seems to reappear. The best way is to be cautious with not overfilling the board with too many bodies for him to kill. Put out minions when in need of board control. Shadow Word: Death is a very good card if he happens to use Plague.
Other than that, justboy68 made a spot on quote about this spell.
"I think like you say plague is one of those disgusting cards that you really can't do much about."
Mulligan
The Lightwell is superb against this boss, which means always keep it if you get it. Along with this card, it's brilliant to start with an Inner Fire along with some kind of control-keeper. Examples for these cards are: Northshire Cleric, Power Word: Shield and Lightspawn.
Playstyle
Always avoid trading enemy minions that causes your own minions to die. This is why you want to have the Lightwell up early. In games where you feel it's going too slow, you have Alexstrasza as a backup to really push him down to lethal range.
With this being said, keep board control as much as possible and make the right trades. Do not play minions if you are aware that they will die. Don't be afraid to use your Shadow Word: Pain and Shadow Word: Death, these cards are in the deck to avoid you being forced to make bad trades and keep the control of the board. By playing like this, I have not lost a single time out of my 5 takedowns on him.
Here is a video of me playing the deck:
Replacements
Do you not have Alexstrasza? Worry not!
Alexstrasza can be replaced with some kind of heavy minion. I'll try a few replacements and see which one is best, but for now I'd say Boulderfist Ogre is a nice pick. Another idea of a replacement would be Maexxna. Reason being it's a hard body for Noth to kill, whilst it trades perfectly to remain board control.
If you need more replacement strategies, please do comment and I'll update the thread with answers.
More info coming soon!
Great deck, turn 6 kill with a 36/36 injured blademaster
Only just beating Noth now
Thnx for the deck, it worked great, took me a few tries but won with clutch victory after noth didn't trade, and I killed him with the help of Holy nova, and double smite for exact lethal
But of course I only have 1 lightwell and no alex, and the few games i lost, I lost to double northshire cleric drawing my whole deck and burning all my cards on turn 7 and then dieing with -25 fatigue damage
I also have double deathlord in mine which works well with buffs and inner fire + lightwell
all in all, it's a solid deck that I felt would've worked better with the addition of a 2nd lightwell
First try, didn't draw a Lightwell at all, but i smashed him with a 10/10 Northshire Cleric for a turn 6 win. healed a lot, and used SW:P and Death on the first opportunity. Holyfire was the kill card. Great deck for Noth.
Absolutely destroys him! T2 Lightwell, T3 Divine Spirit + Inner fire - won turn 6 with Holy Fire for the last 5 health :)
Very good deck!
I have lost so many times now I've lost count. You might as well concede if you don't draw lightwell/pws/divine spirit/innerfire in your starting hard.
1-shot. Thanks, VERY good deck. 28 dmg lightspawn, ftw :)
Great deck! Beat Noth the first try with double lightwells.
Beat Noth on the first try with this deck.
Worked second try, 36/36 Lightwell was great fun to bash with. :D
Did you ever encounter any Crazed Alchemists on your attempts? I think Blizzard just recently added them to Noth's list to counter this. On my 15th try with Zeto's deck and still have yet to beat him.
Yes, once on the first try when I allowed his board to get very full. My recommendation is start playing the heal cards a little bit earlier if you're having difficulties. Be careful not to load up the board on your side too much or he'll destroy the minions you want back with his own. Only increase your board presence when you're sure you have the advantage/can deal with losing one or two of your creatures.
I think he meant that while you are buffing your lightwell, it is possible for the boss to use alchemist on your lightwell, make it 0 health and destroy it.
Indeed, the boss did this to me.
Ah, no, he didn't do this to me. I kept my light well fairly small and harmless until the end, so he just ignored it. It was only the last two turns that I buffed it for swinging.
Awesome beat him first try, only had one lightwell so I used a rag as my second lmao but other than that it was great all across the board no complaints here
Great deck, I guess I got a little lucky with my draws but on turn 5 I managed to get a 30 / 30 Injured Blademaster (2 Divine Spirits / PW:S and Inner Fire)
Then again, I did draw 20 cards in 5 turns with my Cleric / Lightwell combo
Worked like a charm. Took me some time to get around his Plague, because he always used it two times in a row. Thanks!
It seems the best decks to beat noth require Lightwell. I don't see myself spending 200 dust on a card that may never see play on constructed. Any replacement suggestion?
I had to try this about 7-8 times before the kill.
Eventually, I ended up with Alexstraza early on so I delayed/cleared until the right time. Turn 7 I put out Lightspawn, turn 8 I got lucky and pulled a Holy Smite to pop his Counterspell, turn 9 double Divine Spirit on the Lightspawn. Turn 10 was Alex and the kill.
Overall, I would say this deck relies heavily on combos but it is a solid choice. These are heroic bosses, so you'll require a bit of luck and have to spend a few attempts on it.
After playing Noxious' f2p druid ramp deck and failing miserably multiple times, I decided to try Zeto's deck out. Since I don't have Alex, I went with the suggestion of using Maexxa. It ultimately didn't matter since I rode a Lightwell with Divine Spirit and Inner Fire to victory. Seems those on turn 2 and 3 are easy to win with. And yeah, that was first try with the deck.
