Once Un'Goro launched, I decided to brew a tempo Warrior deck featuring the new Hemet and play with it until it got me to rank 10. It took me a while but after a lot of games and changes I feel really confident with this deck now! I'm happy with how it turned out and even more happy to show it off.
The main idea is to play early minions and removal, keep up the tempo with weapons and on-curve minions, and go face! Public Defender is key to this deck's success; he can help keep your opponent from removing your more valuable minions, Inner Rage turns him into Stegodon and Battle Rage makes him amazing. Also Frothing Berserker can become huge alongside him! Lots of the deck's bigger cards help finish off your opponent quickly, and Hemet, Jungle Hunter helps draw them and end games very quickly!
You might have noticed the deck's curve (or lack thereof). It doesn't need a curve! Hemet, Jungle Hunter along with Battle Rage combos keep the deck rolling. It can earn a lot of tempo from a slow start from an opponent, particularly with Battle Rage, big Frothing Berserker combos and flooding the board with minions.
All four of the legendaries are worth getting in my opinion but there are good replacements for some of them. King Mosh is a great lategame finisher alongside Inner Rage, Whirlwind or Blood To Ichor but good ol' Grommash is better in some situations. Leeroy Jenkins is often a dead card on curve but just the finisher the deck needs in a close game, especially alongside a WW effect and a Frothing Berserker on board and your weapons and Kor'kron Elites. If you want to replace him Grommash Hellscream can be brutal if the game goes to turn 8 and is 12 damage to the dome with Inner Rage. If you have neither and are playing on a budget, an Arcanite Reaper could be good instead. I really like Hobart Grapplehammer alongside Fool's Bane except against aggro decks where he's often basically just a 2/2; if you're considering replacing him it should be for a minion that's better suited against aggro decks.
Best of luck if you try this deck out! It's been a lot of fun to play for me so far; here's hoping you have as much fun with it as I have.
I'm loving this deck STILL. Thank goodness someone made an awesome deck that has Hobart Grapplehammer without putting him in a damn Pirate deck. I will use this deck until the end of time.
That's awesome to hear; it's my favorite deck as well right now! I'm glad the time I've spent brewing it it has been so worthwhile.
I've made a couple changes recently that involve taking out Leeroy but I could easily be convinced to put him back in haha. Also, two Inner Rages seemed overkill as an additional Blood To Ichor and Cruel Taskmaster instead would often cost little to no tempo and provide 2/2 bodies to boot. Running two of both of these also convinced me that Whirlwind wasn't necessary although it might make a return some other time next coming expansion.
The new Warrior weapon looks absolutely nuts with this deck! Once Frozen Throne is released at least one of them will be a staple! There will hardly be an excuse not to run Grommash as well, since the weapon will stay in the deck when Hemet is played, Hobart will make it even better and the WW deathrattle effect will enable all rage effects for 0 Mana!
Hopefully there will be more cards revealed in the new expansion that will make the deck even better, but it already looks extremely promising as is. I only hit rank 4 this season with it but I could easily be convinced to reach legend with it next expansion. The stars have aligned for this deck's success! I am so hyped for FT!!!
I have not tried this deck yet, but just from skimming it, it looks like a whole lot of fun. I'm excited to use it!
Cool! Good luck and have fun! I made some more changes to make the deck more assertive at the cost of making it more YOLO: two Rampages and Battle Rages are in the deck now, alongside five weapons plus one Cruel Taskmaster and a Blood to Ichor. You can play the older build if you want to from the revision history tab but I recommend the new one! It's much more assertive now. Rampage is a lot of fun in this deck, especially if you can manage to play it early.
I must ask, why is Bright-Eyed Scout in this deck? There are only 5 cards that would have their cost reduced or unchanged when the battlecry goes off. It seems to harm me a lot.
My theory is that, in a tempo deck, a 3/4 for 4 that digs 1 card further through the deck in order to get to the more important expensive cards is more worthwhile than a 2/4 for 4 that does the same but doesn't tamper with the card's cost. The extra attack is really nice, and the card cost itself has often been irrelevant in my games as the deck typically wants to burn its hand quickly and the Hero Power isn't often important. Also it's practically guaranteed to be strictly better than Gnomish Inventor after having played Hemet. In a tempo deck every little bit of pressure and consistency helps. If you don't like them try Acolyte of Pain or Gnomish Inventor; I'd cut one Battle Rage along with the Scouts and add one more 4+ cost card if I were to add two Acolytes to the deck.
I've made a lot of changes since I first posted this and now I'm rank 4. Check this deck out!
