With the addition of Fire Fly and Flame Geyser to the card pool in Journey to Un'Goro, Hobgoblin decks just received another buff just like it did when Patches got introduced in Gadgetzan.

Babbling Book - Obligatory card for any non-freeze Mage deck, plus Hobgoblin synergy.

Mana Wyrm - Obligatory card for any non-control Mage deck, plus Hobgoblin synergy.

Bloodsail Corsair and Patches the Pirate - Hobgoblin synergy for both. Because Patches is just too good. Even if you draw Patches before the Corsair you can still get a 3/3 Charge.

Fire Fly - New Un'Goro card that works similarly to Echoing Ooze. Even better because you can save the 1/2 elemental if you don't want to overextend without Hobgoblin.

Flame Geyser - Gives you board control AND gives you a Hobgoblin synergy card.

Frostbolt - Obligatory mage card.

Echoing Ooze - Hobgoblin's first mate.

Haunted Creeper - Everyone's favourite 2-drop from Naxx.

Sorcerer's Apprentice - Great synergy well with all our card generation spells.

Unstable Portal - Can give you a big minion for insane tempo. Even if life gives you lemons by giving you a small 1 attack minion, make lemonade by buffing it up with Hobgoblin.

Acolyte of Pain - Mage card draw engine AND Hobgoblin synergy

Arcane Intellect - So you don't run out of steam late game

Hobgoblin - The namesake of this deck.

Fireball - Great finisher and for busting through big taunts.

Echo of Medivh (x1) - The cheese this card can produce is real. Have Hobgoblin and a bunch of originally 1 attack guys on the field and Echo to get them all back into your hand. The 1/x's now all become 3/(x+2)'s the next turn you dump your hand. Bonus points for discount with Sorcerer's Apprentice.

Alternatives: Replacing the Pirate package with Argent Squire x2 and either Abusive Sergeant, Bloodmage Thalnos or another Echo of Medivh. In the MSG meta I have 2x Argent Squire, 2x Echo of Medivh and Thalnos in place of the Un'Goro cards with reasonable Rank 14 success, but this a meme deck so don't expect to climb the ladder :P
