Hi guys, this season I want to make hunter golden so I made this deck since there are a lot of warriors expecially tempo dragon warriors, zoos, shamans and other hunters.
If you guys have any queston, just post in the chat :)
Why Hybrid and not Midrange? Well, I played Mid a lot last season but it is usually so weak vs zoos and shamans, this version expecially with 2x Unleash the Hounds, 2x Knife Juggler and 1x Dire Wolf Alpha is way better against them, since you have a lot of early game and a very good comeback combo on board on turn 5 with Unleash the Hounds and Knife Juggler, this version is also better against tempo dragon warrior because we have more early game that often stops their pressure, also against Rogue (that usually is very bad for Midrange version since they out tempo us) we can have a way better matchup dealing a lot of more damage in early game. Good thing is that good matchups for Midrange version (for example Priest and Control Warrior) are still fine.
Mulligan: Always search for early game (all 1-2 drops) and Bow, if we know that our opponent is CW we can keep Call of the Wild and Savannah Highmane since these 2 cards usually win the matchup, also keep Stranglethorn Tiger against rogue because they can' t sap it.
This is midrange......... without traps.... delete 2 cards and add argent squire....
If Call of the Wild belonged to any other class, you would be right to claim it's broken.
But it doesn't. It belongs to Hunter, which has the worst sustainability in the game and needs an extremely powerful late game card to seal a win or get back in the fight due to their limited ability to take back the board after falling behind.
There are a lot of counters to Call of the Wild, most of which are normally ran in decks anyways. Flame Strike counters it, Auchenai Soulpriest + Circle of Healing counters it, Hellfire, Equality + Consecration, Lighting storm plus any kind of spell power, Elemental Destruction, and many more.
Remember as well that by itself it has very little board impact. The minions are easily cleared as they only have 4 health and the opponent has a turn to respond to it. The only benefit you gain from using Call of the Wild on an empty board is 5 damage from Huffer. If you have minions on the board THEN you can actually make real use of the card, and that's what Call of the Wild is. It's there to give Hunters a win condition IF they actually have board control. If Call of the Wild kills you then you did not keep the Hunter's board clear so that Call of the Wild's effect is basically nullified. It is balanced as is.
Why egle horn without secrets?
This isn't hybrid. It's just midrange with direwolf. Hybrid is when you run the core cards of a face hunter along with the core of a midrange.
Not necessarily face, just faster. This is hybrid. Unless your mind is stuck on time (months/years).
Made a few small changes, works like a charm.
And people obviously don't understand that this isn't a face deck, smh
Sorry, deck is terrible in the Shaman/Zooock Meta- not your fault though, hunter is just too slow. You can't win the board early, too much rng with all the "deal one damage" minions and turn 5-8 plays are too slow. Your only "tempo swing is a turn 5, RNG combo (juggler/hounds) or a one-off (hounds/wolf).
Shaman's early game is SO much better/higher value- Zoo is too fast/doesn't slow down. Didn't play much control besides Reno Lock, but those loses I attribute more to them having all the cards they needed to beat me in the top half of their deck. Not even sure this deck could handle Warrior without Freeze trap for the tempo swing.

i dont see how this is anti zoo with only knife jugglers and unleash to stop them
0-2 rank 17 vs zoo and pirate warrior, there are just no early game answers when all you draw is the 5-6 drops
3rd game this deck has 9 2 drops and i haven't drawn one yet
so? this has nothing to do with the deck. you have like an 80-90% chance to have a 1-2 drop on turn 2 with this deck. i don't know the exact math off the top of my head it'll be like 87%~
anti zoo as in it doesn't instalose against it. or you can think of it as "teched against zoo"

10 win streak at rank 8-12. Super easy and effective deck. My changes were -2x Argent Squire, -1x Dire Wolf, -1x Tiger and +1x Hunter's Mark, +1x King Elekk, +1x Houndmaster, +1x Stampeding Kodo

Interested to hear your thoughts on the line between "Hybrid" and "Midrange" hunter builds. It seems like this one, particularly with the Tigers, is in some regards further into midrange than some of the "Mid" builds that have been running abusive/argent horserider, etc.
(None of this is about what anyone should be playing. Just interested in how we use the terminology.)
AnY replacement for Call of the Wild. U DonThave the card. And don't even want to craft myself one because I am saving for a next legendary.
