Hi I’m Sorte, and I’m an 8x Legend Player, and I recently got rank 1 Legend on EU with this deck.
It’s a pretty standard ramp druid deck, but since it performed so well for me I figured that I would like to share it with you guys :)
Game plan:
Against aggro/midrange-decks, you want to ramp up as fast as possible, and force your opponent to throw all their resources at your big taunts. You will usually be able to out value them, but their early game will always be stronger. Therefore, if you survive that early game, you should be in a very good shape.
Against control-decks, you ideally just want to sit tight on 2-3 minions, and try to bait out AOE removals e.g. Brawl and Twisting Nether. Once those are gone, you just play all your stuff. You can also try to bait out single target removal with cards like Fandral Staghelmand Druid of the Claw, but you should have more big threats than they have removal options, so that isn’t really the main priority.
Mulligan:
Always keep Innervate, Wild Growth, Darnassus Aspirant and Mire Keeper.
Warrior: Innervate, Wild Growth, Darnassus Aspirant and Mire Keeper.
Shaman: Innervate, Wild Growth, Darnassus Aspirant, Mire Keeper, Living Roots, Wrath and Mulch (since you’re pretty much fucked if they play dr. 4.)
Rouge: Innervate, Wild Growth, Darnassus Aspirant, Mire Keeper and (Living Roots).
Paladin: Innervate, Wild Growth, Darnassus Aspirant, Mire Keeper and Living Roots.
Hunter: Innervate, Wild Growth, Darnassus Aspirant, Mire Keeper, Living Roots and (Wrath).
Druid: Innervate, Wild Growth, Darnassus Aspirant and Mire Keeper.
Warlock: Innervate, Wild Growth, Darnassus Aspirant, Mire Keeper, Living Roots, Wrath and Swipe (keep Swipe unless your opponent only keeps 1 or 0 cards).
Mage: Innervate, Wild Growth, Darnassus Aspirant, Mire Keeper, Living Roots andWrath.
Priest: Innervate, Wild Growth, Darnassus Aspirant, Mire Keeper and (Living Roots).
How to utilize the full potential of Raven Idol:
The use of Raven Idol is key to your success with this deck. Normally I say that in the early game you want to get spells, and in the mid- to late game you want to get minions. However, as a good rule of thumb you should always look at the current situation and think: “Is there any spell that would help me out here?” and if there is you should probably try to discover it. With that being said, I think it is worth noting that you should not try to discover Nourish (for card draw), unless you have no other outs. You will usually end up with some low value spell, so therefore it is much better to go for a big value minion instead. Also, DO NOT KEEP Raven Idol IN YOUR STARTINGHAND!
Yogg:
Why Yogg in this deck? Well, Yogg is often a board clear and card draw, which are both a struggle for druid in general. Since there are quite a few spells in the deck it makes perfect sense to fit in Yogg.
I hope you guys like the deck and the short guide - if it gets enough up votes, I’ll make a more in-depth-guide on how to play the different matchups. Please let me know what you think in the comments, it means a lot to me!
This card doesnt fit the ramp druid
Hahahaha nice deck names xD
Thumbs up for the deck, currently 6-0 on rank 5 and 4: Gameplay video
Had only a few problems against control warriors, otherwise its all good.
Youtube-Player:
I only replaced Yogg because I don't have him and I don't feel like crafting him. Ysera fills in the spot somewhat: the card draw part but definitely doesn't have the immediate impact Yogg can have.
I do see why Yogg is strictly better in tight games, unless your opponent has no direct damage, then your massive taunt-wall will stand in the way.
I'm a real fan of Ramp Druid. Keep up the good work! @SorteHS
Justicar is not very useful in Druid. better keep Bloodmage.
in a druid deck not really. The only places where it is used is in warrior and priest decks, other than that it is seldom used. Its an option, yes, but not the best.
Is yogg replaceable with someone like cernarius?
One of the funner decks i've played in this meta. Always satisfying getting your big minions out while your opponent decides between which 3 or 4 drop to play.
i dont have mulch, is bgh a good replacement?
BGH is a potential. Problem is sometimes you want to mulch something with <6 attack for board control but BGH is exclusively for 7+. It could work, but probably not as efficently
you can replace your mulch with a naturalize imo thats what im doing currently and its working out pretty fine ;p
Although naturalize and mulch affect the board state the same way, naturalize is far worse because it's giving your opponent 2 cards from his deck that might be even worse than what you naturalize. And because it's from his deck it's cards that he specifically selected for his deck. Mulch could destroy rag and give you opponent something worthless like an argent squire. It could also give them something better but statistically speaking Mulch is a much more superior choice.
Grats on #1 but not sure how you pulled it off. Warriors all over ladder, shield slamming and executing my ramped out minions.. ouch.
you can replace it with kobold or novice engineer
Cool deck, but I'm not sure about the Azure Drakes. This deck doesn't really need the card draw. Do you think they're worth having or could they be replaced by something like Cenarius, Ysera or even Barron Geddon? Also I would suggest adding Bloodmage Thalnos to your Mulligan for Warlock, or just Thalnos + Swipe.
didnt have fandral and figured his effect was irreplaceable so i put deathwing in instead for another comback/win condition. thoughts?
one thing i've found about fandral is that he is great if you can get some value out of him, but most of time you don't NEED it. he works great to force your opponent to play a hard removal though. He is 4 mana, vs deathwing's 10 mana. i would recommend a minion of similar cost/value instead. emperor thaurissan might be better replacements.
Those deck names though. +1 just for that
I'm missing 2 ancient of war and 1 bloodmage. any suitable subs?
Subs I did for missing cards:
-2 ancient
-1 Bloodmage
-1 Fandral
+1 Elise
+1 Cenarius
+1 Ysera
+1 Jeweled Scarab
Having good results so far!
Ty for posting the deck! I am stuck at rank 4/3ish and am really bored of playing hunter/mage/sham. Gonna try this!
