My name is RegisKillbin, a regular legend player, video maker, and writer for TempoStorm.com. Here's one of the latest decks for which I've made a video.
Old Gods Budget C'Thun Control Priest
Trying to build a competitive Priest deck on a budget? You're in luck! This Old Gods list is a great deck for new and growing players, and it only takes 600 arcane dust to craft it.
What cards would be upgrades for this deck? (Novice Engie -> Loot Hoarder)
I was pretty close to having this full deck.
Swapped 2x Circle of Healing for 2x Twilight Darkmender, throws off those zero cost heals but seems like a decent tradeoff.
Swapped 1 Twilight Elder and 1 C'Thun's Chosen for 2x Twilight Geomancer because I only have one of each.
I would probably look at swapping out the 2 Bog Creeper, perhaps with Gurubashi Berserker, Temple Enforcer, Argent Commander or something to bring the mana curve down a bit. It's not bad persay...it's just like...one of these things is not like the other.
Great comment. I honestly like all of your changes, and I would always recommend players to make comparable replacements if they fit your play-style or work better in the current meta.
Your follow-up comment got it right about LoE. It can be quite cost-prohibitive to grab even a single wing for new players, so I have to leave those cards out when designing budget decks. Entomb in particular would be an automatic inclusion in this deck otherwise. Museum Curator is also very good over Novice Engineer, as you suggest.
Then it wouldnt be budget now would it
I'm not sure if I'm having bad luck or what, but nothing ever lives long enough to be healed. Ten games in a row and every one my minions just die. I can see how the deck is supposed to work, but I haven't had a chance to buff C'Thun above 11.
What a deck !! Really Amazing C'Thun 36/36 hahaha thanks.
I only got up to 23/23 but that's the highest I've ever gotten him!
great deck! finally a win with priest...
Thanks, glad you're enjoying it!
I'd really love a midbudget deck that could get to legend
What do you consider "midbudget" from an arcane dust standpoint?
Why circle, if I may ask?
Probably to get a big healing turn with Hooded Acolyte to buff your C'thun.
Hooded Acolyte and Northshire Cleric synergies, mostly. I also think there are opportunities to keep your bigger minions alive (which is valuable when your average card quality is lower, as in a budget deck).
That said, the card is not necessarily mandatory, as you have other Area of Effect heals from Darkscale Healer and Holy Nova, so it's possible to swap in a replacement of your choice and keep the deck intact.
Fair enough, thanks!
which cards can be replacements? any suggestion?
Did you see my upgraded version in the video at this timestamp: https://youtu.be/SDK9riWwnks?t=547
If you have any other cards you don't have or think might fit, I'm happy to answer specifics.
It is very sad that Youtube is blocked in China mainland... Anyway, thanks for your reply!
Hey man, really love your deck so far. After watching your video I updated to this deck now:
I have only 1 Twilight Darkmender, so I stayed with 1 Darkscale Healer.
I don't have the Auchenai Soulpriest, so I stayed with Gnomish Inventor.
I switched Novice Engineer with Museum Curator as proposed above.
Took out the Bogcreepers, but went for 1 Doomcaller and 1 Entomb (as proposed above). I do have a second Doomcaller, you think that would be better?
Any other suggestions? I have full LoE and Blackrock Mountain.
I love writing guides, but unfortunately just don't have the time right now. Sorry!
