Hey guys, here's my secret paladin deck. I actually haven't unlocked the 2nd wing of League of Explorers so I didn't have a chance to include Keeper of Uldaman, I'm not sure how good it is actually. Anyway, so I went on a 11-1, 11 game win streak with this deck to legend rank 94.
Overpowered Cards
This deck has some overpowered cards and its hard for opponent to deal with. Tirion is just most op legend card and also boom and Mysterious challenger, some people call them Dr. 6, Dr. 7 and Dr.8. Shielded mini-bot is just op, it gets 2 for 1 so often so I had to include 2 of them and also, muster just gives so much value and has synergy with Quartermaster.
Healing
There's a little bit of healing, lots of secret paladin decks have loatheb but I replaced him with Tuskar Jouster. Against Aggro I often win the joust and against midrange you don't really need the healing. Also, 5/5 body is much better than healbot. I put in lay on hands too, it's okay late game card when both players are top decking and 8 heal helps. And reno Jackson:
Reno jackson
I don't get to get his effect too often. in order to get his effect you have drawn minibot, muster and mysterious challenger and have played mysterious challenger or have drawn 1 avenge and 1 noble sac. He has won me 1 or 2 games and that 12th game I played, I played against aggro druid deck that misplayed and I didn't draw muster so I lost a close one.
Secrets
Why did I choose these secrets? I'm actually not sure is sacred trial is better than repentance, it's better in some situations where opponent has 1 minion on board and they play dr.boom, dr.boom actually dies. Repentance would only set boom's health to 1. Sacred Trial might be worst against control decks where opponent can play around it. It's better against aggro decks I think. And playing repentance and sacred trial in the same deck I think is a mistake since repentance would be wasted if sacred trial is activated at the same time.
Owl I think is good, there's always something to silence. against midrange paladin try to save it for Tirion. For demon warlock, save it for twilight drake or voidcaller. Against mage and hunter, try to save it for mad scientist.
1 zombie chow, 1 secret keeper. It's better to have 1 of each having reno in the deck and each one is better in some situations.
Card Exclusions
I didn't include knife juggler, I don't think knife juggler is that good. Certain situations he is crazy good but if someone plays shielded minibot or mad scientist or zombie chow, they will just trade and chances are juggler will lose. I think haunted creeper is better is most situations, it technically has 4 health which is great for a 2 drop.
If you like the deck, make sure you give it a thumbs up and leave a comment/question if you like. If I get 20 thumbs up I will write mulligan guide and add a video of gameplay.
what do you think. Will Secret Paladin live in standart at any chance? Or not?
@Dareden_HS Muster, coghammer, minibot and avenge will not be in standard so that's a big chunk out of secret paladin. So secret paladin will be much weaker with the substitutions. There's a new card coming out called Steward of Darkshire, which is a very strong card because it works with hero power, twilight drake violet teacher, noble sacrifice too I think and a lot of other cards. It will be very strong in aggro paladin with wolfrider, abusive, lepergnome, southsea deckhand, etc, so I think aggro paladin will be better when standard comes out.
@iamN0k1 It should still be viable, it may need a couple changes to make it better depending what you are facing. Lay on hands and murloc knight are slow cards you could change if facing aggro decks. 1 keeper of uldaman and maybe 1 defender of argus might be ok. 1 Divine favour, 1 juggler might be okay too. Just try and see what works.
@VojtaCZech This reno deck has 3 healing cards and sacred trial which is good against aggro decks. My other midrange paladin deck is a bit more aggressive with loatheb and blessing of kings and might be better against control decks so it depends what you are facing. Reno is good against combo decks that burst you down like, druid, otk warlock and freeze mage. Both decks are pretty good and you can always sub in some tech cards like harrison jones if facing a lot of decks with weapons or loatheb if facing lots of rogues.
@VojtaCZech Cool, thanks for you comment and good luck ranking up!
Very nice deck, thanks for sharing but do you really need 2 ''Dr 6 of the christmastree'' and is Tuskarr Jouster a must?
@Thecookie11 Thanks, tuskar is not a must it's just in for a little healing vs aggro. You can try loatheb in place of tuskar. And you could try 1 dr 6 but then having 2 avenge and 2 noble sac would be bad with activating reno. Having 2 dr 6 makes it more likely to draw 1 by turn 6. So I'd recommend keeping 2 dr 6 unless you play 1 copy of each secret and that might weaken the deck but give higher chance to activate reno.
7-3 ,could have been easily 8-2 ( made few terrible mistakes ,which is usual as I am not a pro ) ,current rank 5 with 2 stars :)
@tigerstrike80 Thanks for posting, going to try for legend? Rank 5 to Legend is hard since you can't get a win streak.
yeah thinking of giving it a 50 shot go :) let's see what happens ,but yes i liked your idea behind the deck :)
I am gonna try your deck now ,currently at rank 6 with 2 stars ( down from 3 due to luck/wrong play ) and will let you know the results after every 10 games :)
