Here is the deck I used to defeat Heroic Sun Raider Phaerix on my second try. The strategy is buffing minions, specifically Deathlord.
When he controls Rod of the Sun, it has +3/+3, making it a 3/8 right from the start. So you want to mulligan for Shadow Word: Pain, Silence, or Ironbeak Owl. Next you want to get out a 3-drop and start buffing, ideally Deathlord. He did attack into my Deathlord even when it was a 20/20, so don't think he'll stop the aggression.
Lightwarden and Holy Champion are nice to throw down behind the taunt and accelerate your victory through healing.
Use your Shadow Word: Death on his Tol'vir Hoplites or Lightspawns, so your minions can focus on face.
If this helped you in your adventures, please leave a thumbs up, good luck!

I replaced one of the Ironbeak Owls with Kel'Thuzad such as to abuse the AI glitch where he doesn't attack or summon minions if you have Kel'Thuzad and a taunt minion
First try. Really nice deck, got my deathlord to 32/32 and just hit him twice. Whats so nice is that when you silence the rod, it wont ever spawn again, removing the immunity-factor from the game. Upvote fully deserved!
First try, ty!
Perfect! Thanks!
I beat this as a tempomage, but its interesting looking up all the other strategies. Poly does work on this, it just removes the staff from the game.
Pretty much because the boss always goes face, I used vaporise to protect my dude and kill a guaranteed big threat, while using ice block and barrier to gain life, counterspell trades for his broken spells, and used scientist and that 4/3 to put secrets into play cheap.
From there I just controlled, drew archamage, which he makes no effort to remove, and beat him casting 2 -3 fireballs per turn. I think your deck is much better, but its cool to know that other strategies work as well,
Anyone beat this guy another way?
First try thanks a lot 40 dmg turn 6+1
Thanks for the deck! Got it ony my 2nd try.. Solid victory
2 try, very nice thanks

Great deck 2 tries!
Win in first try. Great deck!
Great deck! Took a couple of times to get the cards, but once I did, EZPZ
ez pzy lemon squeezy 1st try turn 7
seems like priest + Deathlord owns every heroic deck
thanks man
I used this deck and succeeded on the first try. I know that I was lucky though.
I got the kill in one shot on turn 6. I ended up drawing 2 power word shields, 2 divine spirits, 2 silences, 1 shadow word death, 1 shadow word pain, a circle of healing, a dark cultist, and an inner fire.
On turn two I killed the staff with a shadow word pain. On turn three I had to shadow word death the boss's 5/5. I also used a shield on the staff On turn 3 I put out the dark cultist. The boss put out another 5/5. On turn 4, I ran the cultist into the 5/5 and the staff was at 0/10. Shielded it again, and it was at 0/12. Then I doubled it twice with the divine spirits and gave it the inner fire for the one hit kill. It was very satisfying after suffering through some of the other bs heroic boss fights I had to smash my head into 100's of times.
Obviously some other shit happened but I don't remember all of the exact details. :P
