I created this deck a few months back for the sole reason of beating the Aggro decks in ranked (ranks 20->10) Constructed play. It turned out to do quite well against midrange and a few control decks. I even managed to grind all the way up to Rank 4!
This deck will take a while to master, but the awesome thing about this deck, is no one knows how to play against it.
Responses I got from defeated opponents:
"What the f*ck deck is this sh*t?!"
"Hah dude I had no idea what you were playing..."
"F*CK DREADSTEEDS"
This deck has more board clears then any other deck that I have played, and combo's surprisingly well against deathrattle minions as well.
Ex: Play Explosive Sheep, Hellfire, three initial damage, and then two after to clear the respawns
This deck is a guaranteed to give you a slow match so don't expect a turn 5 win. In my experience, this deck gives around a 70-80% winrate from 20->11. Then the winrate drops to around 60-65% 11->7. (and yes, even against midrange/control decks).
Strength's:
Any aggro deck
Weakness:
Any WTF burst deck:
Druid combo eats us alive.
Mage's that hold a OTK in hand.
Just hit Rank 4 with the deck. I hit a brick wall running into countless druid's and mages.
After seeing over 800 views, I see there is interest in this deck so I decided to write a small card guide.
Sacrificial Pact - Used to combo with Dreadsteed + Baron Rivendare, amazing heal, and Anti- Lord Jaraxxus
Mortal Coil - Self explanatory
Darkbomb - Mainly used to kill Darnassus Aspirant and Northshire Cleric
Shadow Bolt - Surprisingly has been a game changer when minions such as Armorsmith and Flamewaker are out
Hellfire - Board clear, combos perfectly with Explosive Sheep
Dreadsteed - Ideal amount of Dreadsteeds on board is 5. Also amazing at countering Knife Juggler, Boom Bot, Arcane Missiles.
Siphon Soul - Mainly used for 8+ cost dragons, Emperor Thaurissan, Dr. Boom, post-secret Mysterious Challenger.
Twisting Nether - There are often times, you do not play a single minion that stays on the board for longer than 1 turn, so every so often, the opponent will over commit and play too many minions. This is a great counter that changed the outcome of many games.
Lord Jaraxxus - Self explanatory, serves as a potential heal, pairs amazingly with Emperor Thaurissan, also is a complete counter to Priests.
Mal'Ganis - Every so often, you will play against an opponent who floods your board with Dreadsteeds. Mal'Ganis is an eye opener, and can have a surprising 18 surprise damage when played. 6 Dreadsteeds * 3 damage = 18
Doomsayer - Played when you need to survive and extra turn. Usually mech mages will over commit minions turn 1/2, and this is a good counter. Also combos well when played a turn before you play Emperor Thaurissan.
Explosive Sheep - Pairs very well with Unstable Ghoul or Hellfire.
Knife Juggler - Most people do not understand the purpose of this card. You never want him until late game, hence why its a 1 of. He pairs extremely well when flooding your board with Dreadsteeds.
Unstable Ghoul - Anti aggro card. Hypothetical scenario: You are the 1st player, you pass. Paladin coins out Shielded Minibot. You play Unstable Ghoul. Now watch how long it takes them to play their turn. It ruins their tempo and it's hilarious.
Baron Rivendare - Duplicate Dreadsteeds with this card. Never play this card without Dreadsteed on the board.
Sen'jin Shieldmasta - Great card to delay the game a turn and prevent face damage.
Abomination - One would think we do not need to take any more damage, but this card prevents the Savage Roar combo. Also great at clearing any aggro board. Priests have no way to deal with this card either.
Antique Healbot - This entire deck will fluctuate health totals often, so this card is mandatory.
Sludge Belcher - Anti-aggro, great at delaying the game. CAN combo with Baron Rivendare if the stars align.
Emperor Thaurissan - We have some fairly expensive spells which need to be reduced. Pairing this card and having Lord Jaraxxus in hand, is abolutely ideal. You can play Lord Jaraxxus and a 6/6 Infernal.
If this deck gets 15 likes, I'll write a mulligan guide and a gameplay guide.
Awesome deck - good job!
you should include sense demons on this for an easier dreadsteed pick due to lacking of demon minions..
I updated the decklist, took out one Shadowbolt in for 1 Mal'Ganis.
Right now, I have never been in a situation where I did not draw my Dreadsteeds. Give it a go though, and let me know how it works.
well, i see some problems in this deck,
first of all, Abomination : you already have 2 Explosive Sheeps , you don't need Abomination , and you really don't want 2 more damage on your face, Sludge Belcher definitely beats it imo.
second: i think that you can cut 1 taunt and put in Mal'Ganis instead, since it is a taunt too, and has absolutely more value with some Dreadsteeds on the board, this will improve many control matchups imo
but overall a nice idea to improve dreadlock for aggro matchups
J1T_T3R - Thanks for the comment
First of Abomination is there primarily because of druid's combo (and other aggro decks). The sheep does not happen to be a taunt. I do understand where you are coming from though.
The Explosive Sheeps I primarily use with Hellfire to get a nice 5 damage across the board.
Two extra damage is not all that much to be honest. There is a lot of healing and damage prevention in this deck.
Originally I had two Sludge Belchers but it was not threatening enough against aggro decks.
I would love to test out which card to swap in for Mal'Ganis but the simple fact is, I don't have the card (yet).
This deck was primarily used to get past all of the aggro decks in the Rank 10-20 meta, and works surprisingly well.
