Hey guys, my name is Timmus. I'm a x times legend player from EU and also a deck architect on hearthpwn. I also play hearthstone for Ben eSports :p

Today I'm bringing you my current version of face hunter. Hold your applaus guys, I know it's "only face hunter", but please listen. I wouldn't post a guide if there wasn't something cool about this ;)

I'm currently 14-1 with this on EU ladder since the season reset only losing to a Tempo Mage. I also took this deck to legend last season with a whooping 90% winrate (from rank 4).

Introduction

For the few of you guys who live under a rock and don't know about this deck; face hunter uses the hunter hero power 'Steady Shot' to its fullest potential by playing a lot of charge minions like Wolfrider and Arcane Golem as well as pretty much all other face damage cards such as Quick Shot and the much hated Kill Command. The deck very rarely fights for board control as it only punches the face and tries to get "cheap wins" from doing so.

It's a high risk - high reward strategy as something like an Antique Healbot can really ruin your day, but this deck is so aggressive that even that doesn't help if you can't clear the board fast enough.

Use your hero power as often as possible, it's free damage.

Good against: Warlock (Handlock & Zoo), Paladin (Midrange), Hunter (Midrange, Face), Shaman, Rogue, Druid

Weak against: Control Warrior, Mage (Freeze, Tempo), Paladin (Divine Shield Aggro), Kezan Mystic & Clowns

Card Choices

1x Blingtron 3000
Alright guys, let's jump right into the awesome part in this deck. Blingtron 3000 is actually not too bad in this deck - he avarages 6 face damage over 2 turns for 5 mana, not counting the 3 damage he puts on the board if he survives. As a face hunter you don't really care what weapon you get, as long as it's not Light's Justice. Even Sword of Justice is alright as it buffs your charge minions. The weapon your opponent gets doesn't really matter at all, because if you get some face damage from it, it might not even matter and if he decides to use it to trade your minions he has to tank the damage. Obviously Gladiator's Longbow would be awesome for them to get, but that doesn't happen too often. (Unless your account name is reynad). All in all I think Blingtron 3000 is a cool addition to the deck and I like it much more than Leeroy Jenkins.

1x Southsea Deckhand & 1x Worgen Infiltrator
I only run 1 Worgen Infiltrator, because I think it is enough. If you draw him later in the game he is not guaranteed to get much value. Southsea Deckhand on the other hand is a great card in this deck, because I run more weapons than the commonly used face hunter decks. He's also really good against Freezing Trap and Mirror Entity

No Haunted Creeper & 1x Animal Companion
The reason for not playing Haunted Creeper is that it doesn't really do anything after turn 2. I lost games where I just needed to topdeck 1 or 2 damage and then that happened. You also don't really need it to enable 5 damage Kill Commands as you're not going to play Haunted Creeper + Kill Command most of the time, it's always Unleash the Hounds/Ironbeak Owl + Kill Command. I decided to take out one Animal Companion for the same reason why I took out Haunted Creepers - it's not guaranteed to get face damage in.

Mulligan Guide

Always keep Leper Gnome.

The mulligan with this deck is pretty simple; if you don't have the coin you hard mulligan for any 1-drop. If you have Abusive Sergeant in your opening hand you probably want to keep it and even play him on turn 1 if you don't have anything else and you need to pressure your opponent from turn 1 on. If you have a 1-drop already, you can start keeping Knife Juggler, Mad Scientist and especially Glaivezooka. Never keep 3 drops without the coin.

If you have the coin you have a few more options on turn 1. You can either go for a 1-drop into double 3-drop. The best you can do with the coin is turn 1 Mad Scientist or Knife Juggler into Glaivezooka and of course the popular double Leper Gnome on turn 1.

Always keep Ironbeak Owl against the following classes*: Warrior, Warlock & Hunter
*if you don't have the coin, don't do this unless you have a 1-drop in hand already.

FAQ

Q: What if I don't have Blingtron 3000?
A: You can run Spellbreaker or Animal Companion instead.

Q: Me go face or me trade?
A: You usually don't want to miss out on face damage. Only trade if you have a high chance of getting repetitive damage in with the minions already on your board. Always clear/silence Armorsmith as soon as possible, especially if you can just kill it with an Abusive Sergeant

Q: How does this deck do against Patron Warriors?
A: To be honest it is a really good matchup, you only lose if they generate too much armor with Armorsmith or if they get perfect curve.

Q: How to play Quick Shot!?
A: If you think you can get a draw off it, you can start playing your cards down faster, especially face damage like Kill Command. If you have 2 mana left you always use your hero power instead if you haven't already, since you can't play the card drawn this turn anyway.
