**UPDATE**: It's been a long time but this deck is still good. Some of the new warrior spells can throw a couple of speed bumps into the mix, but nothing that will render this deck unusable.
Can't Beat em? Fatigue em!
The meta is pretty simple for this fight, and I'd say this deck is the easiest way to beat him if you're on a budget. Due to his hero power drawing class cards, after his transformation into the dragon, Nefarian will end up milling himself after he runs out of minions to play. He will literally stop playing cards if he has no target.
Early game (1-3):
Mulligan for Charge, it will help you on turn 3 with whichever card Ragnaros throws you. The other cards don't really matter with this play style. If you don't get Charge it is still worth playing if you can remove a few of Nef's minions before they take you down too low.
Mid Game (4-?):
After you've nuked a few minions with your beastly Charge combo you start playing pure removal. The key point to remember is to never have a minion for the next round. If you play a card, it must attack and die. If you pull Explosive Sheep hold onto it for another Charge combo. The Ironbeak Owl is used with Charge as well, to mitigate Twilight Drake if they are played against you early (Ironbeak Owl + Whirlwind/Revenge is also great against Twilight Drake). Also, I suggest trying to avoid drawing more cards, because you will be winning by fatigue. If you use Slam, try to make it a killing blow.
Eventually Nefarian will run out of minions to cast. His hand will be full of spells he cannot cast because there are no targets. As soon as you see him draw a card and it burns because his hand is full switch to late game.
Late Game :
With a full hand Nefarian will just sit there and do nothing. It is important not to play a targetable minion at this point, because he will resume drawing cards if he has something to play against. At this point in the game you want to play ONLY one Shade of Naxxramas and continually cast your hero power. Nefarian will run out of cards (usually before you do) and will start taking damage. Finally, let him burn to death. If it's looking like it's going to be a close call, hit him with your extremely buffed Shade of Naxxramas.
Easy.
Card Substitutions:
Death's Bite and Arcanite Reaper are both decent replacements but you may take more damage by attacking minions and you will be cutting it close as it is.
Crush, Brawl, Bouncing Blade, and Mortal Strike are all good replacements for Explosive Sheep or Ironbeak Owl. They are each probably better stand-alone cards and are more likely to be successful because they don't rely on a combination.
DUDE YOU ARE MY HERO!!!
I had to fatigue him but it work on like turn a billon
Thanks so much for this deck. Been wiping there over 40 times with control paladin & buff priest decks, but this finally done the job on ~4th try.
OMG, i finally did it, i went from level 27 to 29 only by losing with this Warrior deck, i lost about 27 times, but at last, i won
Tried the consistent warrior deck with no luck, after loosing about 8-9 times, I decided to give this deck a try. Awesome deck won on my first try!
Substituted some card had a easy win, thank you!
Wow, thanks alot, really the only deck for me to win. :)
Thanks for all the win pics guys. I play Hearthstone on a Surface Pro (which I cannot recommend enough, it's like playing cards on a table). I can't really make videos of my decks in action, I'll try and do this again this weekend, some extra content on the description would be nice :)
worked on first try, you are a god.
This deck is awesome and pretty reliable. I didn't even think about winning this way.
Hey Chumly, if you didn't know: If he does have two revenge, he will play it against a single Shade of Naxxramas.
I know it's impossible to play around this. But yeah, it almost lead to my loss since my 2nd Shade was the last of 2 cards in my deck.
Replaced Slam, Explosive Sheep, & Arcane Golem w/ Heroic Strike, Arcanite Reaper, & Death's Bite
The reason I chose not to use weapons over charge critters, was simply the additional damage I would take. They both have their pros and cons. Weapons can lead, ultimately, to a faster kill. You're going to win either way, I find, but sometimes it's by such a slim margin of health that you cannot take any extra damage.
I'm glad you still managed to get around revenge :) I'm not sure if I can condone not using the Explosive Sheep because it's a really fun combo, it's like the Warrior version of Swipe.
Brilliant deck! Took 5 tries. I had to use the shades to kill his minions but managed to mill him. Surprisingly he played flamestrike on the turn before he died, I have no idea why?
I made a slight edit to the late game instructions after I saw that someone else played two Shades. Even though they are stealthed, AoE or random damage/removal (Cleave/Brawl/Flamestrike) can still attack them, but only if there is more than one in play.
Congrats on your win!
I guess you can play 2 Shades and not just the one. I'm surprised he didn't use cleave or brawl and off them. I could have been more specific and said "only play one Shade" (I really only put 2 in the deck so you can draw one consistently). I'll change the write-up.
Congrats, regardless. :)
Great deck, constructed around interesting interaction. After trying to beat Nefarius with various classes and decks, I managed to beat him with this one on a second try, even tho I did some mistakes in the late game. Kudos for posting this deck.
Cool. I'm glad it worked for you. I had a really bad time of it trying to play the top rated Paladin deck. I ended up losing for a solid 3 hours straight (yikes). I was looking at how this Warrior deck worked
I noticed that most of the removal spells it used were just wasted cards. All I was looking at doing was killing the minions and making sure I had no cards in play. I figured charge minions would be better (and cheaper) and could basically do the same thing. It took me 3 tries. Not too shabby for common/free cards.
