Hello guys!
I just hit rank 1 legend with this list created by my friend Tryndamere. The list is perfect in my opinion so I figured I'd share it.
General strategy:
First of all, zoo is a control deck, not a rush deck! You win by gaining early board control and making efficient trades every turn! Cards like abusive servant and power overwelming help you do that. Always play around the AEO removal from the class you are facing, like consecrate / Swipe etc. Of course this is elementary knowledge, but it is the most important thing to do.
Matchups:
Easy matchups: Mage (mech), shaman, priest, paladin, druid,
Mage: Against (mech)mage look for a good curve and just keep trading with all the mechs and you will win easy.
Shaman: Same as above, just play out your curve and trade. Play around Lightning Storm when you can. Popping narubian egg before it gets earth shocked is a good play too.
Priest: Same as above, should be an easy game. Trade efficiently and play around Holy Nova and Circle of Healing combo.
Paladin: Always play around consecrate obviously, narubian egg is a very good counter against consecrate.
Druid: Don't play against druid with turn 2 Wild Growth. Power overwelming is the best card to keep against druid.
Hard matchups: Warrior (Grim Patron), Warlock (Handlock), hunter (Face), Rogue,
Warrior (Grim Patron): Very difficult matchup when they have early board clears, Just keep clearing and suicide off your own small minions so he can't get value from charging Grim Patrons. Winning board control is always key to winning the match with zoo.
Warlock (Handlock): This is one of the hardest matchups, just try to get him down to 15health by turn 5 just above molten giants range and hope you draw into power overwelming/Doomguard as the finisher.
Hunter (Face): Always keep Defender of Argus in the opening hand, it is key to winning the game. When you managed to argus something like Imp Gang Boss [/card]+ [card]narubian egg, consider racing the hunter and going face.
Rogue: Don't pop your narubian eggs too soon, it is a good ensurance against Blade Flurry. This is a really hard match, but if you manage to play Loatheb while having a board, you win. Power overwelming is great for trading against rogue minions like Violet Teacher and Azure Drake.
Key notes:
* Power Overwelming is good against most classes
* Imp Gang Boss is always a good turn 3.
* Voidcaller is a card I always like to keep in my opening hand! Sometimes when I'm greedy I keep it together with Doomguard or malganys.
* Big Game Hunter Saved my ass so many times. It is the reason I managed to get Rank 1.
* Loatheb Closes out games when you are ahead.
Changes
- Loatheb + Dr. Boom

Great deck, so far I am still figuring out combos and how to best play this deck. 9-5 through 14 games. Paladins are harder than advertised sometimes now that more are midrange, and use coghammer to keep their minibots shielded, along with muster which gives them small minions to deal with ours. Also they always seem to have eq+conc on turn 6.
Corruption is commonly considered to be a trash card. I would highly recommend changing it out for something else, maybe siphon if you really need the hard removal.
bgh is vital to most decks, so you should craft him
why not bane of doom ?
Too RNG and usually gets you something not worth the mana you paid for.
I disagree, you wouldn't believe how many times i've won by getting mal ganis, illidan, jaraxxus out of bane of doom
Of course it depends on the situation, but most of the times you will have board control and minions to get an enemy minion down to 2 health.
then i doubt you're using the deck right
why?
It can be a waste of mana sometimes, and this deck really needs to just keep applying pressure by using mana efficiently. What I mean is paying 5 mana to do 2 damage and get a 1 mana minion like Voidwalker or Flame Imp (even without its battlecry, its worth 2 mana at best). Even though it can be awesome sometimes, I don't think it's worth it overall.
Great deck, so far i am 8-3 with it. Altough it's not a SMOrc deck, for me it is way easier and more effective than face hunter. Guess i am used to trading. Only lost to mirrors (never lucky) and a hunter.
I especially like BGH in it, it was needed many times.
I hope Zoo gets nerfed soon.
It is neither a combo nor a rush deck =_=
Nice
Yeah if they pull a few frogs and silences early and you don't have a reply it's hard to build a board after..
Although I pulled off a perfect mulligan and managed to sustain even through lightning storm.. using my callers to summon malganis and gang boss.. lucky I guess.
i don't have Mal'Ganis can i replace him with another leagendary?
Irreplaceable. Sorry.
ok thx
What can I replace Mal'Ganis with, should I use Chromaggus instead? The reason I ask this is because I do not have it.
Irreplaceable. Sorry.
is it a good legendary to invest in? because im f2p and dont have tons of dust to spend.
Sue, why not? Mal'ganis is a great legendary
