Very annoying deck to play against. Its just way ahead of the meta at the moment and way to good not to play. Should be an easy climb on the ladder.
I made legend with a similar deck to this last season, so if you have any questions, just ask them in the comment section and I should be able to answer them :)

I like the idea with adding Unstable Portal to this deck, but taking out a mad scientist is a very bad idea. Mad Scientist is a very high value card and if it is played early it literally makes the game so difficult for your opponent.

If you do feel like you are playing against a lot of Druids, then by all means add The Black Knight. I used to use TBK when I was around your rank and it helped me reach Legend. So, I do recommend you using him. Honestly, I think you should definitely keep Azure Drake in this deck because this decks only weakness is running out of steam and Azure Drake is the only way to help solve that in this deck. It helps push for your win conditions ( like fireball and Archmage). Also, do not use Flamestrike in this deck. It is way to slow of a card.

Easy to play even for noob-mage like me, fast, fun, capable to win against any type of enemy...
I replaced one piloted shredder with Jeeves, but never used it yet.
ATM played 7 games at rank 10-9 and won 5 of them.

Adding Jeeves to this deck may not be the best idea though. Jeeves is kindof counter productive to the spare parts and Archmage Antonidas combo. So, I would recommend you using maybe a Piloted Sky Golem instead.

How necessary is Archmage Antonidas in a deck like this? I have a lot of dust and have been on edge deciding if I should get him or not for the past week. Can Mech Mage make it to legend without him?
Probly not all that necessary, can sub it for a flamestrike, frost elem, azure dreck, mech yeti, w/e

I actually made Legend without using Archmage Antonidas in this deck. So, it's not completely needed to succeed with this deck, but it would probably help you rank up faster. Entirely up to you if you want to get him :)

He is the only card I am missing.
I had loatheb and The Black Knight, but i recxomend you getting Archmage as soon as possible. Very overpowered card
What replacements would you suggest for Dr. Boom and Antonidas? I have no legendaries other than the Naxxramas ones.
You could try loatheb and maybe The Black Knight ( If you have it) or a second Piloted Sky Golem.

How do you people not run out of cards? I always end up getting my opponent down to 3hp then going 4 turns with no plays and losing.
You need to make the most out of mirror entities (though everyone and their mothers are playing around it, so it is quite hard). Then you have the azure drake and hopefully have drawn antonidas by the end of the game.
But yes, it can totally happen to run out of gas and loose.
I figured out card draw issues as I replaced mad scientistx2 for jeevesx2, but now I am having a more troubling issue sadly. I end up 99% of the time by turn 8-9 with 5-6 spare parts but never seem to draw Antonidas? this is over about 15 games I have drawn him once.
That is a really bad idea! Mad scientist has great value as it puts the mage secrets (which are the most expensive ones in the game) out for free. In addition, Jeeves is counterproductive to Antonidas. You have to keep spareparts as long as possible and Jeeves only works well if you can dump your complete hand before playing him.
Always mulligan hard for Cogmaster, Mechwarper and Clockwork Gnome. Mad Scientist is also very good, especially against Control. Against Aggro, also keep Frostbolt to remove his Undertaker. Against Hunter, you can keep Goblin Blastmage in your opening hand. Without AOE and the addition of Snake Trap, he will be needed. Same goes for Paladin and Muster for Battle.
Azure Drake seems a weird card in here. Why not run a tech card instead? Maybe one polymorph?
