Achieved #1 Europe December season with this deck.
The best match-up u can get is warrior, handlock and druid. On the other side the worst possible match-up is priest, zoo and mech mage.
I'm nearly sure that some of u are shocked that i didn't include hunter, but i got more wins than loses against him, so I'm not scared of this match-up at all.
The worst match-up for me is warlock, because the only good card against handlock and zoo is an Earth Shock, so knowing what kind of warlock u are facing, it's a huge advantage. I hate the muligan aspect here.
How I muligan then?
I do always keep a Rockbiter Weapon Zombie Chow Harvest Golem Haunted Creeper and Feral Spirit which is risky sometimes.
Mana Tide Totem - always against handlock, only with coin against pal, druid
Earth Shock - I do not keep it only against druid.
Flametongue Totem - I do keep it only having Haunted Creeper or Harvest Golem
<taking break> will edit rest really soon.
I know you're thinking to yourself "it's rank 8, wtf does it matter wat you replace it with" but just try to remember my skill cap is much lower than yours ;) So if you were a rank 2-3 player like me, would you go tech ( black knight ) or finisher ( rag ) ? Also, very nice deck bro, its is very consistent and wrecks most Hunter builds.
P.S. I am facing a lot of mid range decks at rank 4 like Pally, Hunter & mech mage. Also, ty for the fast response dude.
Hello Loyan , grats on your #1 legend !
i just have a simple question , Why the Mana Tide Totem ? it isn't that good in this fast meta in my opinion :/
Just want to hear yours ^^
so shaman as a class confuses me, i have no idea what im supposed to do with shamans, but most shaman decks follow a basic set up it seems like, so i gotta ask, whats really important in the shaman setup?
ALSO i have no DR. BOOM, neptulon, or alakir, legendarywise i got rag, black knight, harrison ford, naxx things, troggzore, and mogor, what should i use in their place?
Well I replaced Neptulon with Onyxia. You have a big guy on the board- Onyxia ( that will be the Dr. Boom ) and you have 6 little guys- the welps ( pretend they are bombs). The good about the welps is that there is no RNG , the bad thing is that they won't damage as much as the bombs if killed. Anyway with Onyxia you end up either getting Onyxia cleared or the welps. I added a bloodlust for the welps if they survive.
1. Shaman is a deck based on efficiency... You use buffs such as the Flame Tongue and defender of argus to make favorable trades with the opponents minions and control the board... as Shaman is generally used for a control style. You also need to think turns ahead when using cards with overload because of the mana-cost delay and so need to think about everything mathematically...
2.Shaman also have a couple of rockbiter involving deadly combos in using things like Alk or the doomhammer- which this guy appears to have switched for loatheb (as good as loatheb is i disagree with this personally although it depends how common you're seeing harrison JONES (See that JONES not ford)
3. Get Boom ASAP he's incredible value and used in most decks with any mid to late game (basically anything but aggro) But replace him with Rag and Alk with perhaps an argent commander or just a sylvanas if you have it but as you don't maybe harrison will do. Or just a doomhammer for a simular combo affect and put in loatheb too.
4. There is no easy replacement for Neput as he offers the carddraw that shaman badly need but you could go for something as simple as a gnomish upto just another big guy. I'd be interesting is trying Trogg in that deck as with all the minions/totems you'll generally have out it might be nice to have some AOE protection,
yeah, i could have gotten boom, since i had 3.2k dust when gvg came out, but i followed hype and got trogg and malorne instead...
also i call him harrison ford for kicks and giggles.
Hey guys, i was wondering about Harrison in this deck. -1 Loatheb + 1 Harrison. Before i crafted Neptulon , Harrison Jones had done fine for me.
Don't drop Creepers unless it's for another two drop like Pyros or Annoy-o-trons! Lower the curve instead. But I feel two chows is too many -- 10 free health is just too much.
So... You evaluate, e.g., is BGH not pulling his weight? Swap him out for a Harvest Golem. Or switch out Mana Tide, or even Loatheb. But not for another Healbot, too slow. You're better served by more early game to fight for board control. Try different things, come up with them on your own, see how they work, try to hack a solution. That's the best way to a) improve your play and deckbuilding skills; and b) create the deck that works for YOU.
Reason for running 1 crackle instead of 2 copies?
What should I mulligan for?
What is a good first few turns to set up on the board?
Depends on match-ups, but I'm guessing you generally want creepers and chows in your opening hand, then vs aggro you probably want an earthshock, and rockbiter. Vs control on the other hand you're probably looking for harvest golems, and flametongues.
I find this deck, as well as any shaman deck, to be average at best.... low ranks on the ladder you get rolled over by aggro, high ranks you get out-controlled... requires some lucky rolls and streaks...
I'm getting absolutely destroyed by paladins with this. Most other matchups are good, even priests oddly enough and I usually struggle with them when playing shaman. However, I'm hitting a bunch of people playing more traditional control paladin, the weapons and peacekeepers are just picking me apart. I'm like 1-5 against them, and that 1 win was with an insane curve and they played peacekeepers really badly whilst I managed to combo 18 damage on turn 9.
I also get raced down by hunters and mech mages more often than I'd like too. Always feels like it lacks heals in this situation as I can usually regain the board but not before taking a big chunk of damage that I can't really recover from. I'm not sure what would help with that though.
Hi,
First, grats on your #1 Legend.
I just can't like Zombie Chow... It seems that you are giving your oponent 5 life for free everytime it gets to the table. Is it really worth it? Açso, what about replace that 1 zombie for an utility minion, such as Youthful Brewmaster? So you can reuse your battlecry minions?
Regards,
Mizinha.
A 2/3 on turn one gives you a lot of tempo and board control. Zombie Chow is for early removal. You should always mulligan for him and just suicide him into anything they play instead of hitting face with it. The goal here is that you trade a 1 cost minion with one or more other minions that cost even more thus you end up ahead and more importantly control the board early game which is often the game deciding factor against agro. I'd rather have a zombie chow against hunters, mages, shamans and zoolocks than any other 1 drop in the game. If you get him late game you can usually drop him behind taunts if you think you can race your opponent down before they can trigger the heal - you can also earth also earthshock him in a pinch to stop the heal (I've killed hunters with this thinking they'd get a heal from explosive trap).
Sometimes he can be a dead draw late game, but I'd rather have a dead draw late game than a dead draw early game, if my early game has gone well I can play around a few dud draws, not so much the other way around.
How much is your win rate against HL? I have most trouble with them..
Same for me, i asked him about HL, he using different strategy with never hitting them before he get some burst, but it doesnt work for me.
HL is the hardest matchup for me.
Gotta ration your resources, 2 earth shocks for 2 drakes, then you use your 2 hexes for either his 2 mountain giants or his dr. boom, and try to build up a board of totems so you can use those to kill whichever of those 3 you don't have a hex for. Finally, you can keep him at a high enough life total that molten giants are never really playable, and if he manages to squeeze one out you can just BGH that fool and just burst him out with any combination of al'akir, flametongue, and rockbiter.
The one thing that can screw you in this match-up are board clears, so keep track of how many he's used and develop plans around them. Either building a board that can't just be cleared by one, or keeping cards in your hand so you can just refill the board afterwards. You gotta keep the handlock reacting every turn and gotta keep a big enough board that they're afraid of playing jaraxxus or an 8 mana molten giant.
I hope this helps, the match-up is relatively easy, you just gotta remember a bunch of stuff.
seems working very well.
Hey man, I gotta ask, why the BGH? I know Dr. Boom is everywhere, but he doesn't even seem like a good answer to Dr. Boom(since you still gotta contend with 2 boom bots), and then other than that, the match-ups he's good in feel like match-ups you're favoured in anyway(Warrior and Handlock), whereas the match-ups Shaman usually struggles in(not sure if your deck does) he feels like a dead card(Priest and Hunter).
Just wondering how he's worked for you so far. Thanks for the deck though, definitely gonna give this a try.
