E.T.C's band: The Jailer , Smothering Starfish , Siphon Soul
Using this deck i managed to reach Diamond and am trying to climb the ladder at the moment with it.
It is always good to see that control warlock is back, so far i have found this to be the most consistent Warlock deck in the new format (over fatigue and imp).
Obviously with this deck the goal is to control the board and cheat mana with cards such as Voidcaller and Amorphous Slime. With the sideboard I always take The Jailer when facing Death Knight as most of the time it is the only way to deal with the crazy amount of removal they have in their deck (try and combo it with Thaddius, Monstrosity when polarity is even), I have found Smothering Starfish to be useful against buff paladin to remove buffed minions and divine shields which can be very annoying (I am debating whether to add another one to the main deck itself too) and I am still undecided about the last spot so i put in Siphon Soul for some last minuite removal (although this is most likely going to be replaced in the future as i rarely ever pick it).
I have found that Felstring Harp is one of the most valuable cards in this deck and had great synergy with Spirit Bomb, Hellfire, Movement of Wrath from Symphony of Sins and is extremely useful when life tapping. Also - I think every time I have managed to get Thaddius, Monstrosity out early i have won the game.
Please leave suggestions for changes to this deck below as I am looking for any ways to make this deck better.
Is Jaraxxus still a viable end game card over the jailer to fight DK's infinite removal ?
yeah definitely mate
I liked Armor Vendor overSpirit Bomb as its good standalone starter and also a way to provide ways to stall till your big tempo play.
Kept The Jailer in ETC with Smothering Starfish and a Sunfury Clergy for Heals (depending on meta Steamcleaner/Rustrot Viper looks solid).
Cut 1 Hellfire forTwisted Tether for situations where you need big minion removal.
Decided to cut down on big dudes as usually they are either too slow or clog your hand and u might wanna play something better so I cut 1 of each Enhanced Dreadlord and Flesh Behemoth to make room for Gigafin (saved me alot of times) and I experimented withDirge of Despair as a way to make the lock combo with jailer/Malganis easier however it doesn't matter at that point you're probably winning so I'm trying Zilliax now.
thanks for the feedback bro, will try these card changes now as i attempt to climb diamond. Also i have been experimaneitng with a deck that has no dreadlord or voidcaller and at the moment its working better.
Can u share the version without those cards? I would really appreciate that!
What do you think about Immolate? I like this card, but I don't know what to replace it with
it is a very good card, but i feel like it is not that good in the current meta as most of you opponents will have fast paced decks.
not enough value and too geared towards aggro
Hey guys,
I tried out this deck recently and had a lot of fun with it. One of the things that makes it so enjoyable to play is the ability to cheat out big minions earlier than usual, which can be a game-changer. Check out my video to see the deck in action and pick up some tips and tricks to help you improve your gameplay. If you're looking for a control deck that can handle a variety of matchups, give this deck a try.
Thanks for watching, and I hope you can enjoy it!
For me just never works because Slime gets bottom 10. And then is useless.
thats just unlucky, but thats what sir finley is for.
Is jailer a required card? I only recently dusted mine a few weeks ago lol
From my expirience, it's not extremely necessary (you won't need it against aggro and midrange), but in some matchups (warlock mirror or others heavy control decks for example) it is your only win condition. If you can pull off the Mal'Ganis - Jailer combo you become basically invincible (r even play Jailer and then the Symphony). But the core deck it's quite solid on its own tho
The best advice I can give is never shard/craft legendary card the firts weeks afrt launch, 80% of the time you'll regret it lol
What a fool
This deck is amazing, so fun to play, but i'm really struggling against aggro decks (i'm 2-5 against aggro). If you're not drawing your defiles or other tools to control early boards its almost impossible to recover from the aggression of these decks. Do you guys feel the same and what change would you do to make it more reliable against aggro?
Edit: I replaced one Behemoth with Ziliax and i'ts going better (lighter deck, rush + health regen helps controlling the borad and survive), but I still dont feel confortable against aggro
zilliax sounds good i might have to try that.
What do you think changing ETC to the jailer. In my case He is the option most of the time and its a little bit slow to get him out and play. Im 9-4 with this deck right now.
Yeah I actually put Jailer in the base deck instead of finley and my ETC is viper, starfish and twisting nether.
After playing a few games i decided to craft the jailer and i do not regret it lol, currently 11 and 4 with the deck in gold
