Doing well with this so far. Figured I'd share it. The only real strat is to finish quest and only use your Thrive in the Shadows to draw the FU IN THE FACE card. but you also have your deathrattles and Xyrella, the Devout card as a backup if you're getting bad mulligans, but I've only had to used her 2 out of the 8 wins so far.
Rustrot Viper are only for Warriors/Rogue/Warlock, otherwise use as a 3 cost for quest or for draws.
Cheesemonger is rarely ever used, except to block them from predictable spell cards. Be careful to only use it when you can afford space in your hand though.
I'm no pro, but thus far, I haven't even come close to losing.
Update:
removed Cheesemonger - Burning Blade Acolyte - Gift of the Naaru and replaced with Taelan Fordring Korrak the Bloodrager (dunno why he wasn't in there already) and Shard of the Naaru
It's definitely been tougher to win now that there's more awareness for Priest decks, but it's still fun to play with a decent win ratio. I'm at a 60% 73/49 currently. Definitely play around with it though, there's plenty of substitutes you can trade out. Just remember to keep some good deathrattles, sustain and some board clear.
Again.. no pro, but I'm having fun with it! ;)
doing really fine with this, just trade Mutanus the Devourer for Abominable Lieutenant wich kind of does the same with more cost
I only have Mutanus for my cost 7 in the quest and also to disrupt the enemy hand. I've gotten their Quest reward card multiple times now which usually makes them insta-quit. I do use Aboninable in my other Control Priest deck though.
What is the FU IN THE FACE card?
quest reward - 10 mana win the game
Purified Shard. It's so busted, and I love it. :)
Im seeing many Quest Priest decks lately. Wonder if they are that good against the swarm of aggro (shaman, pirate.) also prob loose against tikWL and 50% against mirrordeck. How do you do against PingMage?
Personally I think that Burning Blade or Cheesemonger are too slow or not needed. Instead you need something to survive early or defend against late game.
How many times you cannot play the Quest req on curve I wonder because ie you don't have a 6,7,8 Cost minion? In this case you could try Fordring.
TikWL and PW are usually guaranteed losses for the DR quest priest.
At least, that's my experience.
You will barely ever play perfectly on curve, as you have to deal with the opponents boards often.
I definitely don't always complete quest. Now it's even harder since ppl have realized Priest is somewhat back. However, there's plenty of healing in the deck, plus you have Amulet of Undying as a failsafe towards the end. Characters that can destroy cards in my deck or have spell block/silence/transform a minion into something lower are the only BIG issues.
Also, Burning Blade and Cheese are too slow. I've since taken them out.
