Total Deck Rating

This is the absolute perfect deck to counter the current meta, and it was the deck that finally got me my "12 Ranked Wins In A Row" achievement.
Look to keep the board clear in the early game while you gather the pieces for the final burst.
If you are clever, you can save either the Lightning Blooms, or use
Primordial Studies to lower the cost of your Spell Damage minions as needed.
Ideally, you can burst with:
Rune Dagger
Lightning Bloom
Bru'kan
Novice Zapper
Novice Zapper
Diligent Notetaker
Lightning Bolt
Lightning Bolt
Lightning Bolt
For a grand total of 27+ damage (depending on what is on the board).
The opponent literally never seems to see this coming and the amount of times they have celebrated having an overwhelming board with threatening lethal and emote-spammed while I proceeded to deal 24+ damage to their face in response is glorious! :-)
So far, I have not seen another soul playing this type of deck on the ladder, so it's also helpfully new to the meta, which aids in it's unpredictability.
Gonna be honest, fun deck in theory, but the top 3 seem to just run it over by turn 7-8. Rush warrior just creates minions that are too big to remove. Paladin forces you to use your lethal tools to remove the board, especially because of Oh My Yogg. Hunter is so hyperaggressive that the Tidal Waves are too slow.
It also runs into issues against Warlock where they can just infinitely remove your board (and deck lol) and heal to full + armor gain to get past the not-quite-OTK.
More a commentary on the state of the meta only allowing 5 or so decks to exist than on this deck itself.
I’m missing Lady and Fireheart... I’m assuming there aren’t any good subs for both? What about Gidra or mana totem... etc... something that really only serves as a target and not to actually cause much damage?
I love the idea and play style of this deck. But I don’t have the resources to craft both rn.
Fireheart is by no means essential to this deck. Neither is Lady Vasj, but she does provide a useful extra something - fortunately you can often pull her from an early Studies.
Fireheart is there partly for maintaining tempo / board clearance, so look for something similar. Maybe that 3-cost spell that deals 3 to a minion and gives your hero +3 attack? Or a Lightning for board clearing?
Playing at low legend and I like this deck concept, but it’s just a pally fest in legend and there is no way you are able to clear board and retain lightning bolts for final combo. Maybe I will play this in casual until the pally tempo nightmare ends.
Any suggestion to replace lady vashj? Im missing that card
I've been experimenting with Taelan Fordring in the deck recently. Helps to get hold of the Primordial which in turn can then add a little tempo in the mid game (Turns 5-8), which it can sometimes cool off otherwise.
Hey, great deck. In my opinion the only good one for Shaman right now. I just had a bad game against a Paladin and I'm struggling to find out how I could've played this game better. Any help is appreciated!

Ok, have watched this match through.
Unfortunately this looks like one of those matches where he drew the nuts and you didn't. Annoyingly, it happens.
In terms of what you could have done differently - the in-game choices you made were mostly what I think I would have done.
I think I would have possibly considered throwing out the Coin + Notetaker on turn 3 to then get a second Chain Lightning ready. It would also have given him a board presence to think about too.
I also might have reconsidered the mulligan. Landslide is little use if you don't have the Overload kicker - you want to see Novice Zapper in your hand to keep it.
With 20-20 hindsight, I probably would have chucked back the Notetaker as you're not looking to play him on the first couple of turns, so he is a fairly dead card unless you throw him out for tempo (which might have evened things up for you after you played the Dagger and took the shield off the Righteous Protector).
Aside from that though, looks like a difficult one there. Hope you get some better matches going forward!
Thank you for the reply! Very informative response. You get an upvote + a follow from me, thanks again!!
So what do you mean by rank #1 if it's diamond 5?
D5 is where I began my journey with this deck - and it's somewhere people are familiar with when determining competitive grouping, etc.
Not following. When people say "Rank 1 deck" it typically means actually rank 1 legend.
Are you instead trying to say rank 1 as in "tier 1?"
Correct, yes.
But Primordial Studies doesn't lower the cost of Bru'kan, you know that right?
Oops! That's an oversight. You're right.
I use the Prim Studies to lower the cost of whichever other SD minion/s I play during the combo turn.
Good spot.
I feel the deck lacks draw power, played a few games and just seem to run out of steam before I can gather the combo pieces, playing in low legend atm.
5-0 With this deck. Just played a hilarious game where I revolved into a Il'gynoth by pure luck vs a priest with empty board with 3 small minions and dagger up, he used double rally to fill his board and I OTKed him for 66 with TIdal wave and double zapper.
That sounds epic! haha! :-)
Diamond 5 is “Z League”?
Honestly, you’re starting to sound less like you want to actually win with the deck and more like you are just trolling at this point.
Not at all. I am at D5 too. I have tried the deck an it just doesn't work, just saying
