 Thx for sharing this man. I had some great results the day before the latest DH nerf, basically won every control matchup, and won my first 5 games with a couple minor tweaks. I'm super sick of playing highlander mage, and am curious what you swapped in/out to combat the trend of aggro decks. Would love to keep playing this deck. Thx bro.

Cut most of the dragons cuz they are only there as activators for dragon synergy and only kept big value ones, also cut 1 Pyroblast cuz it makes me lose vs aggro when I draw it as my big spell from Starscryer.
Added the Khartut Defender as a stabilizer to play after you drop your big spell best option and must have in this meta in any control deck.

its a shame i wasted money and time to make this deck. It gets me the same 1-10 like the person above said. Ive played mage for years and this just doesnt work

My stat probably was 1-10 with this deck. This is how it works for me. Don't know what I have to do with my hand.

You should play Naga early to drop a spell every turn. Also you got really unlucky and no dragons in hand.

To be honest this old version is horrible vs aggro check out this one Big Spells (it also got a mini-guide included) and do the aggro tech replacement. 

Went from Diamond 10 to Diamond 5 with it. Exchanged Arcane Breath with Astromancer Solarian. This deck is very good vs priest because they don't expect the burst. I lost a fair amount of games against Questing Adventurer-rogues because you have a hard time clearing big minions.

I also added Astromancer Solarian in the version I am currently playing (I hit legend with it) he is a good extra win condition.
A more cosistent version which got better chance against early tempo rogues.

Yeah that's also a good choice as long as you add cards that boost you bad matchups winrates

I think I forgot to type: slow compared to wild.
Because I tried a version of this in wild with spiteful summoner and failed horribly cuz you are mostly dead by turn 3 there.

In standard the only deck that can put you in such condition is tempo demon hunter, and not many of those around these days

No for Reno but yes for Puzzle Box is most stupid explanation ...

Reno at least clear the board and gives you 5 armor, and the other card I call Puzzle Box of F.... idiots as it is 100% lottery...

The main problem is you can't cast reno for 5 or 6 mana cuz he is not a spell, and if you bothered to play this deck before commenting you would find that you don't reach 10 mana 90% of games

You sound like you got rekt by Puzzle Boxes too many times, that's why you are so salty at them.
Here is a surprise for you Puzzle Box will be good to the caster 70% of the time in standard cuz there are not many spells and there are about 6 spells that just win you the game if they get cast off the Box no matter what the board condition is.


Conclusion: Puzzle Box is a good RNG card in standard it's like arcane missiles on 1 minion with 1 health to kill it and hope not all 3 shots go face.

It doesn't get to the point where you actually need him, it's either you win by turn 9-10 with Alextraza into Pyro Blasts or you have already been aggroed down before that

Looks interesting, what ranks did you play this at and what was your winrate?

Went from rank 5 diamond to rank 1 but then started having trouble vs good start aggro decks.
I am currently modifying it to have better winrate against those.
