HeyGuys C4mlann here,
I haven't posted decks here for a while, but had an insane climb with Dragon hunter on 06-02-20 (shortly after Wing3 Galakrond's Awakening got released) and thought, I might share it. Took the deck from rank5 to Legend and almost top50 Legend on the APAC server in one take with around 80% Winrate. I also uploaded the whole run with 300% speed on Youtube, so if you want to have a large sample size of decisions and mulligans, go and check that out :)
The list itself has been around for some time and people had success with it before Galakrond's Awakening. Now with the new Dragon Rotnest Drake around, it is even better than before!
Mulligan basics: Mulligan for curve, always keep 1 drops, Stormhammer and Phase Stalker. Never keep Tracking or any traps (the only exception might be a Snake Trap going first while having a one drop vs another aggro deck, but it is easier to stick to the basic rule)
I will try to answer questions, so feel free to leave a comment!
Just play Unleash the Hounds, Spellbreaker, Lifedrinker or something like that. Maybe even another trap ;)
Thank you I was Rank 10
Now I hit Rank 2 with this deck in just a few hours
Tried it and lost the overwhelming majority of the time. Decks with multiple taunts you lose hard against. If you have no answer for the ziliax, you lose. If they play weird off-meta shit you lose for some reason.
Nice Deck c4mlann!
What about a rat trap instead of freezing ? I think it can be good against rogue and mech pala...
Hi thanks for the deck. I like it, and the video(and music non the less).
I cant seem to find a way to beat those tempo/galakrond roque any advice? the problem is that 50 % of the time i am facing this deck,..
I just had a "mirror" where the guy used Frenzied Felwing - do you think this would be a good include? and what would you change it for?
Thx in advance
Heya! Thanks a lot! Will update the list. Yes, Frenzied Felwing is very good.
Hey,
is Frenzied Felwing an option instead of one or two Snake Traps? Or for anything other?
Veranus worth using in this deck ??
Tested it, it wasn't good.
This is an aggresive deck so unleash the hounds is very useful for that end game burst you need and also it has pretty good synergy with Leeroy. Tracking is very important as it helps you find key cards while discarding bad possible draws, I wouldn't remove either for the chance of getting a random spell.
I removed 1x Lifedrinker and 1x Evasive Feywing and added 2x Spell Breaker.
It shuts down Embiggen Druid pretty hard, In this matchup you either kill them before their big swing turns or have to spend all your resources getting through those huge taunt minions, by which point it's pretty much game over. Silence shuts down their taunts and gives you extra reach going into late game which allows you to just silence their Winged Guardian and hit face some more. My winrate has gone up to 80% vs Embiggen Druid from 59% with a sample size of 65 games post Silence and 130 games pre silence.
It is also a useful card to shut down some of the more pesky magnetic mechs that the Paladins are building, It's so satisfying to see them build a huge lifesteal, taunt, rush, deathrattle mech with divine shield + BoK just to turn it back into a 1/1. My winrate has gone up slightly vs mech paladin with the addition of silences, but the sample size is too small to credit it to the Spell breakers just yet.
Against Rogue, the card does not have as much value. You can shut down Shield of Galakrond and Van Cleef but that's pretty much all you can do with it, but Rogue is only the 3rd most popular class I am facing on ladder at the minute with Druid and Paladins accounting for over 50 percent of my games.
What is the reason that you didn't put any Firetree Witchdoctor's in this list.
I know it isn't 100% reliable to give you what you need, yet it does create the chance of getting what you need early when it comes down to luck with the mulligan and the first three draws.
It's not that this deck has plenty spells in it. I don't know which cards I would cut in favor though, maybe Unleash the Hounds? As it is a card that isn't useful in each match-up. And maybe one Tracking? But tracking only gives you options from your deck, so it should be better, unless the card you need just isn't in the deck...
In the original list I picked up, there has been one Firetree Witchdoctor, but it just isn't good as it is too slow for this deck and doesn't really give you stuff you need. The only good thing about it, it can give you a dragon to activate dragon synergy, but to acomplish this, you already need to have a dragon. So it's kinda useless in that sense, too.
Hello,
I have a question. While I am in my collection, I cannot find Rotnest Drake to craft.
Can someone help me with this issue?
Thank you
It is from the third wing of the new Galakrond's Awakening adventure, you can not craft it.
Another nice tech-card that have helped me several times is Wild Bloodstinger. It ca. Help remove vital battlecry minions and much more.
I removed one Stormhammer
Stormhammer is the strongest card in this type of deck and the reason it exists.
My favorite deck at the moment! Saw it on your twitch channel, was impressed and immediatly crafted it. Thanks for the list, mate! Vote up and big up!
Thanks a lot! Glad you like it :)
I removed 1x Tracking, 1x Snake Trap, 1x Stormhammer.
Added in 2x Big Ol' Whelp, 1x Utgarde Grapplesniper
Did these changes for a little more draw. Found it fizzled out around turn five if opponent could keep up. Plus two more dragons help with Corrosive Breath procs, Scalerider procs, the last Stormhammer proc, and Rotnest Drake proc.
