Ok so I know that in every single expansion there is a group of us hunter players that get excited for the possibility of a control archetype in hunter, and every expansion we are met with the harsh reality that not only is it bad, but it's too bad to even get ranked in the tiers.

I think Zul'jin brings in a chance for this archetype to exist in hunter.

Some play testing showed that this worked pretty well, beating out big spell mage and some various aggro (espionage rogue, odd pally, etc).

Your best bet is to full mulligan for the secret package. Vs aggro, you can play Deathstalker Rexxar on 6 if you have to, then play Zul'jin for a big swing and board clear. Vs control, you HAVE to play Zul'jin first.

Draw is your biggest enemy here, so your mulligan and your choices on when to play out cards is extremely important.
I'm experimenting with Flare x2 in place of Bloodmage Thalnos and Harrison Jones right now, given the high number of spell hunters we're all seeing. This also gives us consistent draw, as opposed to hoping Thalnos isn't silenced or our opponent has a weapon we can Harrison in time.
