While most gravitated toward the aggressive Odd Hunter archetype, from the outset I have always been more intrigued with an Even Hunter setup. All of my favorite Hunter pieces are even-costed: Secrets, Deathstalker Rexxar and Kathrena Winterwisp. The loss of the Lesser Emerald Spellstone is unfortunate but surprisingly, in contrast to a certain popular opinion, I do not miss the beloved 3-mana slot nearly as much as you'd think. Not having King Krush for Kathrena shenanigans is also a bummer, but all well.

The deck itself is fairly straightforward: utilize your Secrets and control cards to ward off early aggression, all while you wither your opponent down with cheap Hero Power snipes. In time, you'll be ready to close out the game with Kathrena, pulling your major heavies out onto the battlefield to slam home the victory. If you find yourself on the back-foot, DK Rexxar can help even things out (get it?...*cough*).

A note on Dire Frenzy: a single copy of this 4-mana spell can go a long way as it is quite versatile. You can multiply your Emperor Cobra from the Venomstrike Trap to clear threats, a Vicious Scalehide to heal and maintain control of the board, and/or one of the Charged Devilsaurs to swiftly close the game out. You can also use it on a Zombeast!

There's still some room for improvement, of course, but I'm enjoying this deck a lot and in the Odd/Even inverse matchup, I have yet to lose to an Odd Hunter ^_^
