Witchwood Hand Druid Theorycraft
This is a new druid archtype that blizzard is pushing, and most people had dismissed it pretty quickly, but personally I think it has some real potential.
So, this deck is comprised of three parts. An even cost deck, which is mostly because the majority of the cards that fit this deck are even. The hand archetype, with draw and cycle to build its size, and then some minions to extract the benefits. Then, a more aggressive token aspect, to close out the game.
Even-cost is a bit of a gimmick, as we don't know how good it is yet.
The drakes and mountain giants are some big minions to control the board and push for lethal, and these benefit from your large hand.
Then we have wispering woods, the link between the token and hand parts, and spreading plague. These both build a big board to drop your sea giants. this gives your opponent an ultimatum between clearing your board and clearing your giants, allowing you to follow up with the power of the wild and branching paths board buffs.
some potential swap outs are:
Argus and sunfury for more taunts and defense.
Odd cost cards: 1-drops, nourish, and arcane tyrant
More card generation/token generation
All new yet-to-be-revealed witchwood cards
So, an upvote or like or whatever would be really cool, I'd like to see more discussion around this archetype. Comments/feedback would be really cool too, get some of that discussion going.
Also, just realized, you are missing one of the most crucial "Hand" archetype cards: Twilight Drake
It is in there, under the few neutral cards. Oaken summons also has pretty severe anti-synergy with Twilight Drake too unfortunately :( . 4 mana 4/1 gain 6 armor's pretty poor.
Good point about Oaken Summons. Hmm.
Edit: I must be blind. Sorry about missing the Drake.
Edit #2: I think you're pretty close on this. If I open the proper cards, I might even try this out also. Firebat is on the record as thinking this will be a good deck; we'll see!
It's an interesting option to think about subbing out the Druid of the Swarm and something else in favor of Oaken Summons and Ironwood Golem.
