seems like the acolytes of pain are a bit too situational given the only way to proc them are pyromancer procs
Thats what I did, Im wondering if I should craft Tirion or black knight. I have enough after the Leeroy nerf
Humility is terrible against aggro decks like Zoo and face hunter. High level play has more handlock, control warrior, etc. Against those decks with more big minions, humility is much better. Aldor Peacekeeper too.
This deck is VERY similar to the one I use in ladder climbing. With the one exception of Harrison Jones which I dont currently have in my collection. Any suggestions whatI should replace it with. I have a sunwalker in it's place just not sure that is an appropriate substitute.
Loatheb would work quite nicely as well :)!
why the humility? is it to combo with kodo and acolyte of pain? spend a card to get a card on a combo, seems unlike Trump to go for non-stand alone value combos
Humility good on its own. Even without a combo.
Well, he certainly wouldn't enjoy picking that card in arena but constructed is different, even Trump agrees with that.
The effect on its own is pretty good, the combos you mentioned along with the fact that it can be used to trigger the Pyromancer give flexibility.
If I recall correctly though, the inclusion of one Humility in just about any Control Pally deck is somewhat new, you could definitely justify replacing it.
This is a tournament deck, which means it's build specifically to fight against the opponent's control deck( handlock, control warrior...). If the opponent is playing aggro he probably plays another deck first that better counters it.
As a home brewer, I realized that the most compelling reason Humility was introduced in the last couple of seasons was because you needed a rapid-tempo play on turn 9 and later. Starting a couple of seasons ago, burst combos became commonplace in the meta game and you often couldn't find the opportunity to just drop your finisher on an empty board. You usually needed to make a high impact defensive play on the same turn you dropped your finisher (which costs 8+ mana) in order to be safe. The strongest defensive play you could make with 2 mana or less at the time was Humility, and it also happens to be acceptable even if you drew it earlier in the game, so it was an easy inclusion.
With today's metagame, Humility has value for different reasons, but as a tech card (unlike, say, Equality) it can always be cut if the field happens to shift in other directions.
