weak, imo, but pretty cool. It might earn its place in some very very slow decks but i dont see it. Wouldn't you just run a few more big legendary guys instead?
Isn't this just another giant to add to the Handlock's arsenal? Or am I wrong here?
Control Warrior, Control Priest, Handlock, and Shaman for sure.
Where did you see the golden animation?
I'm going to go out on a limb and say this is garbage. Prove me wrong combo players :)
I am going to go out on a limb and say this is going to be nerfed to 12-mana ;)
Echo Giants Mage. He'll likely be better than Moltens in that deck (Not replace them, you'll run all 4 but better).
you think? that would open up infinite damage combos with the 6/6/6 drake.
From the wording I don't think you have to have it in hand to get the cost down. So all you hero power uses will proactively reduce this cards cost. So bottom line handpicked got a huge buff
Yup! That's what excites me. This is awesome for Priest, Mage, Paladin, Warrior, Shaman control decks and possibly even Hunter. Basically anything that likes to weave in hero powers as often as possible.
Control warrior can use it too.
Priest might love this card. Using hero power early game to stall (even healing your opponent on turn 2 for 0 has an upside now!). Shadow form late game could have some crazy plays, Hero power heal, shadow form, shadow form hero power then frost giant for 0. They can also keep the board clear for long games.
The earliest you could even play this card would be turn 6, given that you don't hero power on turn 1 with coin. This may be good in Handlock or Control Warrior where you use you hero power almost every turn but it would also be very slow to do so. Granted you don't have to use your hero power at all and play it on turn 10 but it seems as if this will be played in the super late game against other control deck along with another big threat like a Dr. Boom to have too many threats your opponent may not be able to clear at once. I guess we'll have to wait and find out if it will be of any use at all.
I think this work like [card]Bolvar Fordragon[/card] where you have to have him in your hand for the reduction to work.
Difference in wording leads me to believe that unlike Bolvar Fordragon using Hero Power without holding this card would trigger its ability when drawn later.
Edit: Just watched stream and it does work as I described.
Considering none of the giants work like Bolvar, I don't think this one does.
Not to mention, the wording is pretty clear. But Internetz.
This could be experimented with in handlock given the playstyle of the deck.
It might seem good at first, but it's mana cost reduction takes far too long for it to be effective in Handlock in my opinion. If for example, you start with this in your hand turn one, you'll have a dead card. Mountain Giant is way better still because you can already play him on turn 4 while this guy will cost 8 mana still. I think it will be better suited in some sort of Giant Mage with combos from Coldarra Drake, Nexus-Champion Saraad, and perhaps also Maiden of the Lake.
However, this is all speculation for now. Let's hope that Mage does not become too powerful!
I suppose that makes sense when you put it that way. Handlock already has to make some cuts on big creatures.
