Sounds great until you realize you build your entire deck around a single card that you can't even search for.
What good is a Healadin deck gonna do you when you can't play any of your heal cards because you didn't take damage and Thekal hides somewhere at the bottom of the deck.
If he was a 1-attack minion we could at least search him with Crystology and get some shenanigans going.
That's not even mentioning the lack of a win condtion.
Maybe you can meme in Wild with some Molten Giant OTK hybrid where you can use it to set up the HOly wrath combo with Banker, but in Standard this is a nope unless there'S some crazy new "convert healing to damage" card or someething.
Came here to say the EXACT SAME WORDS. Maybe you can read minds...
There's no need to "build your entire deck around this single card". All your arguments seem to assume that healing your hero is the one and only thing heal effects are good for AND there's aparently never a reason to heal your hero without playing this card?
We'll judge in a month or so if this 59% meta defining card is good for more than memes.
I would argue that at least he is an option in Healadin builds. I cannot count the number of times I have a lifesteal minion on the board where that ability is wasted because I am at full health. Even if it is mid-late game and I have more of my health... If I drop this and swing with a Chillblade Champion, it has netted armor and shown the benefit of lifestealing minions.
So not necessarily building a deck around him, but including him in the tech,
I expect nothing less from a dude with two Infinity Gauntlets
Convert Health to Armour and then heal yourself. Very nice. Two lives (or more).
Looking forward to that wild game when my opponent plays this on turn 3 and the plays 2 Molten Giants on top of it...
Could this happen though? I was thinking that since this card says "convert", that it won't count as "damage taken". Which means it wouldn't discount Molten. (see Crystallizer for wording that discounts molten)
I'm pretty sure that it will count as damage taken. Otherwise your max heath would be 1 and this card would be absolutely garbage.
edit
How would you get it as a paladin, though?
